TW: Swear words

Yasinya, Ukraine, 2020

It had been a week since the Bathory twins had been reunited and things  are somehow still going well. Feronia and Eliza had become close, much to Stefan's embarrassment. The Volturi liked her too, with the kings calling her 'My Lady,' much to the Jane's ire, who seemed to glare at the immortal human when she thinks that the immortal doesn't notice it. All the grudges and wariness that was surrounding the two clans seemed to have disappeared when the respect that the kings held for Eliza and Caitlyn appeared.

"It's not like she's going to do anything," Eliza told the kings when they mentioned it to her. "She's knows my advantage against her," she continued with a smirk.

Aside from the glares, it had been fairly peaceful.

Until a loud voice was heard from the library, breaking the serenity that had been hanging over them like a blanket.

"How?! Carlisle how can you just decide to do this?!"

Eliza looked at Caitlyn and ran to the source of the sound, only to find Edward pacing in front of Carlisle, muttering angrily.

"How can you believe a word that came out of that bitch's mouth? It's all bullshit. No, I'm not talking about your mate, Jasper." Edward continued, earning a glare from the Hale 'siblings' and a snarl from Emmett.

"Then surely you don't mean Caitlyn, your mate, because I will torch you if you did." Eliza said, her anger visibly palpitating around them. Edward's eyes darkened in anger, ignoring Renesmee's pleas for him to stop.

"She's not my mate. Bella is!" Edward all but screamed.

"I can see the fucking strings, Masen. I can see the red string that entangles you to Caitlyn. I can see the ugly flaxen yellow string that surrounds you that shows that your so called mate that you are married to is been cheating on you. I can see the black string around your necks that traps your entire family and connects to one that leads to the distance." Eliza hissed, her anger rising by the second.

"Shut up! You're lying and you don't know shit! You are a fool!" Edward hissed back in denial.

Eliza's eyes turned icy blue, the temperature around them dropping colder than the vampire's extremely low body temperature. Jane's eyes widened as she felt the indoor temperature drop fast, nearly matching the nearly -30 degrees Celsius Ukrainian winter that raged outside.  Knowing full well who had caused it, Jane found the anger she held for Eliza gone, and replaced with newfound respect as she went to look for her twin.

"You did not just call me a liar and a fool, Masen." Eliza said coldly, ignoring the shudders that the guests felt. She sent a mental tug on the silver string that connects her and her brother, who showed up a minute later.

"Amplify our ability, Stefan. Allow them to see our hidden ability just this once." Eliza said, nodding at her brother. He nodded back at her to inform her that it has been done, observing the scene silently, ready to step in when necessary.

Edward's eyes nearly bulged out of his sockets as coloured strings visibly appeared around them, his eyes zeroing on the glowing red string that wrapped around his pinky. He followed it, his eyes growing even larger if possible when he found the other end wrapped around Caitlyn's pinky. Shaking his head to clear it, he sat down when told, and waited for the Volturi to arrive, so Eliza can start her explanation.

----------------

Eliza took a deep breath and started to explain, ignoring the gaping faces of the Volturi that walked in just a few minutes prior.
