PS. SWEARING.
La Push, Washington, 2020
It was a frustrating time for the tribe. When the Cullens left, they thought that the shifting would end. It had been nearly eleven years since they left and yet the shifting still occurs, and they have no idea why.
They love being wolves, even with the mind link and lack of privacy. Being closer to nature, the mother that gives them sustenance, is a blessing that they never wish to lose. However, being wolves has rendered them infertile and unable to age, much to the despair of mated pairs.
'Someone is on their way here, and they smell of leech. It's small, but it's there.' Paul said, interrupting Sam's musings.
Most of the pack are currently on patrol, something they still do despite the lack of threats that posed against the tribe.
'Wait I smell Jacob and Kyle too. They're in a black Ashton Martin Superleggera. Did he tell us that he was visiting? And he's bringing leeches?' Embry said, hearing Paul's thoughts.
'Paul, Jared, hide behind the treeline and attack under my signal and my signal only. Leah, Seth, human forms and with me. We'll greet them.' Sam said, nodding his large black wolf head.
Sam, Leah and Seth walked towards the car that just parked, looking at the people that got out in suspicion. He knew two of them, of course. Jacob had been a member of the pack and Kyle had been the only Cullen Coven Member they allowed in the reservation due to his identity as a a fox shifter. Taking a deep breath, he noted that they have a hint of the bitter smell of the vampires, but have their own separate, natural scents too. The only female smelt like fresh dew on the leaves, and the breeze during winter time. The unknown male smelt like a rainforest and freshly fallen snow.
What were they?
Hazel eyes met dark brown and her eyes flashed blue, making Sam blink in shock.
Did he imagine that?
"Sam, I'm sorry for the sudden visit." Jacob said, reaching his hand out to Sam for a handshake, only to be practically sent to the ground by Seth.
"Jake! It's been too long!" Seth said, giggling slightly as he helped his friend up.
"What are you doing here, Jake? Not that we aren't happy to see you." Sam said, his right brow raised.
"We come bearing news, and I think the council might be interested in one of my friends here." Jacob said, gesturing to his companions. The female walked up and spoke, surprising the pack with her words.
"Good day, Alpha Uley, and forgive us for trespassing in your territory. I am Lady Elizabeth Bathory, and this is my twin brother, Stefan. I lead a small group of immortal humans in Europe. I come bearing news and an invitation." The female, Elizabeth, said. Leah's growled were mirrored by two more, intent on intimidating the visitors but were surprised when they didn't blink at all.
"Stand down. How did you know I was an Alpha? Did Jake tell you?" Sam said, glaring at Jacob, who raised his hands in surrender, shaking his head vehemently.
"You look and act so much like your great-grandfather Levi. Here, I presume that you know what that is." Elizabeth said, tossing a necklace to Sam, whose eyes nearly bulged out as he recognized the pendant.
"Paul, Jared, tell Billy that an emergency council meeting is needed within the hour. You four, come with me." Elizabeth bristled slightly at the command before following him, her eyes narrowing microscopically as she shared a look with Stefan whose eyes glowed in irritation.
