The months following Keith's death things went from bad to worse. Jarep, only days after rescuing Lance, promoted her to number one and disappeared a few days later. Only messages from him every few days let her know that he was alive.
The agency itself was descending into chaos. Everyday the Galra drew closer to their hidden base. Making everyday a struggle to stay hidden while still sending out for supplies.
The Paladins moved their base of operations with the agency so that there was less of a chance for the Galra to pick up on radio chatter.
With the constant need for her presence to make sure everything was running smooth Lance hadn't really had a chance for herself. She was always busy making sure that the Galra never found them, making sure they had enough supplies, and planning their next move with the Paladins and the Blade of Marmora.
Speaking of the Blade. They received intel from their undercover agents that the Galra ranks had received a new general and supposed to be worse than the others. There were rumors that he once demoted several captains, humiliated them, and then killed them and their families. To many that sounded normal for a Galra general to do until they heard the part that they did absolutely nothing to warrant the behavior. He killed them just because he felt like it.
This piece of information absolutely horrified Lance and she was doing everything she could think of to help stop that general. The thing was, it was really hard to find a general in the Galra ranks who you didn't know the name, or what he looked like.
The Blade did their best to get a shot of him, but he never appeared where they thought he would.
"He always sends a messenger to deliver orders," One Blade of Marmora member was telling Lance.
Lance sitting at Jarep's old desk, scribbled a few notes onto a piece of paper, "and your sure that he's never been seen?"
"Yes, quite sure. It's all the crews are talking about!"
"All right thank you," Lance rose from her seat. Then stepped outside to Haitheil, her newly promoted number two, "I'm going to be in a meeting with the Blade and the Paladins, so please try to go as long as you can without needing me.
She nodded and darted off down the corridor most likely to the security deck.
Lance headed in the opposite direction. She stopped at the next door, opening it and stepping inside. The others looked up on her arrival. Stepping up to the table she glanced at the maps overlapping each other.
"What do you have so far?" She asked, her eyes trailing the red and blue areas colored on the map.
"The red indicates possible landing points for the Galra if they were ever able to come across the planet and the blue shows the best vantage points for us to either ambush them or to keep an eye on them," Pidge stated, pointing to each of the colors as she explained.
"Well lets hope we have to do neither," Lance replied, "Our best bet is to go to them,"

"No! We are not risking ourselves and this fleet! They will come to us and when they do it'll be hell."
"But Sir! What happened to victory or death!?!?!?"
"It still stands. I'm just going about it a different way." Zhamoht said, smug look forming his features.
