i sat silently in the passenger seat, listening to the lyrics of 6lack's prblms, as dee drove.

finally breaking the silence, she spoke.

"where am i taking you, shawty?" she asked.

"oh, uh, 16th." i spoke, looking up from my hands.

she nodded, & continued driving, as the song went off & another one came on.

i zoned out, & before i knew it, she was pulling into the driveway of 𝙝𝙞𝙨 house. gulping softly, i looked up at the house, & unbuckled my seat belt.

"you need me to come in with you?," she asked.

"no, i'm good. he should be gone right now, ion see his car." i spoke, looking around.

"okay, ma. i'll be out here waiting."

nodding, i slowly got out, & limped towards the back of the house. he always left the back door open, so i knew i had to go in that way.

slowly approaching the door, i gulped again, & turned the handle carefully, opening the door.

taking a quick look around, i stepped inside, & carefully tiptoed to the staircase. i spotted him laid across the couch, asleep with a bottle of liquor in his hand, hanging off the couch.

i slowly tiptoed up the stairs, & into my room, pulling out suitcases & grabbing all my clothes stuffing them inside, i walked into my adjoined bathroom & grabbed all my feminine stuff & bodywash, then walked back into my room.

"and where the fuck you think you going?" a voice slurred, causing me to jump, & slowly looked up, seeing my drunken father's face. his once low fade was now a small afro & his beard was patchy, & his eyes were droopy.
