The apology

"Hello Haku" I said shyly as I closed the door behind me

Haku was sitting at his messy desk with his head in his hands. His hair was no longer tied up, it was loosely hanging from Haku's head. He looked up from his hands and smiled at me. I guess Lin was right, he wasn't angry with me!

"Hey Chihiro, what do I owe the pleasure?" asked Haku

"I'm sorry!" I blurted out loudly, closing my eyes

Haku looked taken back. Maybe I shouldn't have yelled it at him, I should have spoken in my normal voice! Now my apology is ruined.

"Why are you sorry Chihiro? What did you do" asked Haku

I opened my eyes and saw Haku's confused look. I'm guessing he had forgotten that a couple of minutes ago I threw chunky green things at him!

"Did you forget what happened?" I asked

"I'm not following you" said Haku

"I threw chunky, gross green things at you!" I exclaimed "Do you not remember? It was like a couple of minutes ago!"

Haku still looked clueless. Do I have to spell it out for him? Or do I have to throw a chair at his head with the words "I threw chunky green things at you!" on it for him to know what I'm talking about?

"Ohhh, yeah!" said Haku finally understanding what I was saying

"Finally, you understood! I was going to throw a chair at you with the words "I threw chunky green things at you!" on it so you could understand. But that's good that you remembered before I did that" I said

Haku looked at me with a half confused half laughing look. "You have become violent over the years" teased Haku "You are threatening to throw a chair at me!"

"It was a backup plan in case this one didn't work" I teased

"Anyway Chihiro, you don't need to apologise for throwing chunky green things at me. Good thing I saw the funny side of it, right?" said Haku, smiling

"So, you are not mad?" I asked

"Why would I be?" asked Haku "I know the chunky green things were meant for Lin"

I took a deep sigh of relief "Oh my gosh, you have no idea about the thoughts I had about you!" I blurted out

This shook Haku with surprise. Oops, that came out wrong! I just admitted thinking about Haku, what am I going to do?

"No, I didn't mean it like that, I meant that I had thoughts that you were upset so I was going to make you an apology card. But Lin said you were not made and that I shouldn't make a card to apologise I should just go and tell you!"

Haku didn't reply for a whole minute. What was taking him so long? Just reply and say you understand what I meant!

"It's okay Chihiro. I understood what you said, you really didn't need to apologise" said Haku

"Oh my gosh, thank goodness!" I said, wiping sweat from the brow "Okay, now that this situation has been cleared up, I'm going to go back to my room, bye Haku see you later!"

"Bye Chihiro" said Haku, waving me goodbye as I left his office

As I walked along the corridor back to the rooms, I was happily skipping and hummed a tune. Haku wasn't upset with me! All the other workers looked at me with curiosity, they were probably wondering why I was so happy! I was smiling the biggest smile I had ever managed.

"Hey Chihiro, how did the apology go?" asked Lin, as I entered the room

"It went really well; he wasn't mad at me after all!" I said, smiling

"I told you so!" said Lin "Next time, don't go to the trouble of worrying about hurting someone's feelings even if they are not upset with you!"

"Well, I had to make sure!" I said

"So... what happened? You see really happy about something" said Sakura eagerly

"I'm just happy that he wasn't mad. Nothing happened" I said

"Don't lie to us Chihiro!" said Lin, glaring down at me

"Nothing happened!" I said

"We will get it out of you sooner or later" sighed Lin

"Lin, Sakura, Aoi and Chihiro, your shift has started!" called a voice

"Coming Akakri!" called Lin "Come on girls, we have more cleaning to do!"

"Seriously?" groaned Sakura
