I get home from school at 3:00 o’clock I usually get home earlier because David drives me home but today he decided to leave me at school. I come in the door and the first thing I see is David sitting on the couch watching football (David and my dad are really into sports.) “The nerd queen’s here.” David says once he sees me. “At least I don’t have a brain the same size as a jellyfish.” I say back. “Jellyfish don’t have brains.” He replies confused. “Exactly.” I reply to him. David was about to say something back but I already got in the lift and was heading to my room.
A few hours later Mom and Dad are home and Mom was excited because she said she had a surprise for me. We had pizza for dinner and a few minutes later Mom had us come to the lounge room for her surprise. “Claire, now that you are 16 you get something very special.” Mom says excited. “You’re going to give her plastic surgery so she looks decent.” David says obnoxiously. “No, and David that was very mean apologize to Claire!” Mom orders. “Fine, Claire I’m sorry……that you were a mistake.” David says to me. I’ve taken a lot of abuse from David but that was too much and before I knew it I was running upstairs to my room.
