*Your POV*

Message from: Laurance Zvahl, 6:03PM

Meet me outside in ten minutes. Wear something comfortable.

I throw my phone onto my duvet and immediately enter my closet, looking for something to wear. After I got ready, I lay on my bed while looking at my phone and staring at Laurance's message.

This jerk. How am I just letting him play with my feelings like that? Is this what happens when you like someone?

"Y/N, Laurance is here!" Eyanne calls from downstairs. "Got a date?"

"She's hoping," Sly butts in.

I roll my eyes and walk up to Laurance. "Hi," he says; I'm not sure about this, but he seems... nervous?

"I must be dreaming if the Laurance Zvahl is actually nervous today?" I retort.

"Heh, I may or may not be nervous for today." He started to walk towards the direction of Phoenix Drop High.

"We aren't going to school, right?"

"Just trust me." I stare at his backpack wondering what was in there. And why he would need to bring it?

We end up at school, of course. He led me to the field; filled with balls, rackets and nets from the sports fest.

"This is where I first saw you." Laurance starts. He points at the volleyball court. "You were a terrible volleyball player back then, and now you're an ace."

I look at him, confused and yet I can't help the feeling of nostalgia and being flattered at the same time. "It's the same place I saw you, too. You were already good at sports."

"Yes, but I already saw you since I transferred to Phoenix Drop High."

"What?"

"Freshman year, I saw that shy timid girl not knowing what to do in that court. I don't know what it is but I couldn't take my eyes off of you."

"You tell that to all your girls, Cassanova."

"Exactly. I can get any girl I want, I can approach anyone and possibly humiliate myself just so I could get their attention. But why was it that I couldn't bring myself to talk to you?"

I was trying to avoid looking at him at first, but now I'm shocked to find myself staring at him; waiting for him to continue.

"Of course, there had been other girls I liked. I was even able to approach Aphmau. I know myself as the person who can speak his mind then make a joke about the serious things. But, with you, it's like I forget how to speak." He doesn't look or even glance at me. He just continues on while staring at the first single star that can be seen at sunset.

"You leave me speechless, Y/N. I don't know why but you drive me crazy, like I don't know myself anymore. And yet when I'm with you I can be myself more, I know what I want and what I can do. But you are like the goddess that makes me feel unworthy to speak to you. I tell myself, how can I treasure this human being, how can I show her worth, but then I catch myself and scold myself. I tell myself that I shouldn't have feelings for you because I am only me."

"How come you're able to tell me these now?"

"You made me realize that I hurt you." He looks down. I can tell he's holding back tears.

I say nothing, he does the same for a while. Only the trees rustling and cars passing by the school can be heard at this moment. To be with him here at this hour was unsettling, yet comfortable. Unsettling, yet comfortable. I repeat the words in my head. Is that how he feels about me?

"I am not here to justify the things that I did that hurt you," he continues. "But let me prove myself to you, as a person. I am not someone who was made to hurt you."

"Laurance," I say. He blinks a couple times when I spoke. "Okay."

He slowly looks at me and I saw his softest smile; the kind of smile that shows thanks.

"Oh, uh, before I forget." He reaches into his backpack and takes out a donut box. He opens it and it is filled with donut-themed objects like earphones, a headband, a bracelet and many more. It also had our picture during the sports fest in a polaroid pasted on the lid of the box with a lettering that says 'Prom?'

"Laurance. Zvahl." I look at him in shock. "That. is an outrageous. promposal."

"Wha...?"

"You didn't want a promposal in a donut shop and yet here you are, with take-outs?!"

He finally laughs. He takes a bracelet with donut shaped gems and puts down the box. He takes my hand and puts it around my wrist. "I'll be taking that yes, now."

I smile. "Okay."
