Chapter 10 - To Confess or To Be Prideful?

*Your POV*

     My friends have been looking at me weirdly now. Did Eyanne tell them? No, she wouldn't.

     Of course she wouldn't. But do they know? No, there's no way. Oh shoot, Ivy!

     But even she wouldn't stoop THAT low. It's her uncle! No, she wouldn't. Maybe Laurance told them that something else is wrong? No, he promised it's only on him.

     "AHH!"  I shriek as someone pulled me from behind then hid me from everyone.

     "Okay," my eyes widened as I realized that it was Laurance along with Garroth who was right behind him. "(Y/n), tell us."

     "W-What? I don't have a clue on what you're--" I tried to say.

     "(Y/n), checkmate." He said rather sternly. "Ivy's already told us you were hiding something, Eyanne said that you should be the one to tell us what happened, and last, you haven't been sick."

     "Haven't Lucinda, Aphmau or the others approached you yet?" Garroth.

     I gave him a knowing look and looked down. "No, they haven't..."

     "I'm gonna be honest here. If it wasn't for Laurance, then maybe even I wouldn't have noticed what's going on." Garroth.

     How did he even notice? I tried to avoid him and everyone and done everything just to avoid suspicion.

     "Look guys, I don't wanna talk about it. It's nothing." Me.

     "You're gonna tell that you don't want to talk about that something then you're gonna tell us it's nothing?! What the hell, (Y/n)?!"

     "Laurance, Garroth? Are you there?" I heard Aphmau calling.

     "I got it. You stay here with her." Garroth told Laurance  as he went to distract Aphmau.

     I looked back at Laurance, eyebrows furrowed and mouth sealed in a straight line.

     "Just...tell us. We're here for you." Laurance.

     And that's when I burst to tears and collapsed to the ground. It was a good thing there aren't any people here, or I would've gotten the attention of a lifetime.

     Laurance kneeled beside me and gave me the most comforting look ever. "Shh..it's okay, you can tell me."

      And with that, I spilled. About my dad being in the military and only getting to see him every two years, then two months before we get to see him again, he gets shot in the heart. Then my mom losing herself and seeing Eyanne trying desperately to keep herself up even though we all know we were all going down. How avoiding them hurt so much. How I've been losing everything..

     "Hey...." He smiled at me reassuringly. "It's hard, I know. And I don't have the right to tell you that everything's going to be well in no time. Because that's just crap. Because no matter what we do, it'll still be that hard life. When life just keeps throwing you around and toying with you. But either way it'll get better or not, we're here to stand by you in that fight. You shouldn't fight alone because you don't deserve to do so. Life is hard, (Y/n). But we should fight harder. And I won't dare say you should just get up and pick yourself back up. Because I know that it's not at all easy. You can't just pick yourself up after being dragged by a bus and getting ran over by trucks, you just can't. But hey, we'll be here for you."

     I cried even more and leant on his shoulder. I needed that. I know I'm prideful, but I admit that this feels much better than staying in the shade and hiding from everyone.

     He broke through my walls...

     "Great to have you back, (Y/n)!" Vylad said, as we sat on our lunch table. How I missed this table. I could just kiss it right now!

     "Great to back, too." I smiled.

     "So, I was thinking how about we go visit your dad's grave after school, then to my place and get some if my mom's cookies and tea and have the rest of the weekend off." Lucinda stated.

     I told Laurance I can't explain everything again since it was too hard for me. So he was the one who told everyone and...they accepted me. I don't even remember why I thought they wouldn't. I don't deserve them, seriously.

     "Sounds good!" Cadenza.

     "There's so many of us, wow." Aphmau.

     "We can manage. Let's separate into groups for convenience, then!" Laurance.

     "Kawaii~Chan calls Aphmau~Senpai!" Kawaii~Chan.

     "Great! So we'll have Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn, Lucinda, Vylad and Nicole." Aphmau.

     "Then we have me, Laurance, (Y/n), Dante, Cadenza, and Travis." Garroth.

     "We'll meet at our tree in the park at dismissal, then." Vylad.

     "Then it's settled. You cool with that, (Y/n)?" Dante.

     I nodded. Who wouldn't want friends like them?
