Lee Jisung was a freshman in the same high school as Sanha. Sanha's tutor is Lee Taeyong, who is Jisung's older brother so they naturally got to meet each other once in a while whenever Sanha came over to his house. Firstly, Jisung just thought that Sanha had a very shy personality which prevented him from opening up. But he then saw Sanha getting bullied behind closed doors at school which was why the puzzles started to connect. Secondly, he was scared of being aimed as close to Sanha since he didn't want to bullied as well. But he knew that it was foolish for him to think that because if he told someone, it might have helped stop the situation from ending like this.
Gyuri calmed Jisung down slowly since she knew that he was super nervous talking to a police officer. She bought him some ice cream to coarse him to calm down as she notified him that she's not a police officer that he thinks of. She worked in the psychological aspect of police investigation, and he could tell her things that he felt intimidated to tell a police officer.
It made him relax a lot more than she thought since he started to take a few deep breathes before he started to speak his side of the story.
"First, I thought he was just being quiet. He never talked about himself even if Taeyong hyung would want him to open up. But I found that he was being bullied at school, and everyone turned a blind eye. Even I did. I should have asked if he was okay, but I didn't want to hurt his feelings."
She smiled gently as she urged Jisung to keep his head up since he did nothing wrong. "It's not your fault. You thought you were protecting him too..he could have been quiet even much longer if you told the truth. He might have closed his doors even more if you revealed the truth. You're being careful of the situation. You can't think that it's always a bad thing..you're young as well."
Jisung nodded quietly as he nibbled on his spoon with ice cream on it. She sipped her lemonade as she continued to listen to Jisung. "I started to see bruises on his body after his fifth visit to our house. He never showed it, but I saw it on accident when he was taking off his jacket."
"How bad were they?"
"Maybe a day or two passed after he got hit. It was super dark."
Gyuri nodded quietly as she continued to write down these details as Jisung nervously looked around as if he was worried someone was looking at them. Gyuri realized how nervous he felt as she reminded him that his privacy is key. He would only be contacted for further investigations, but he would not be bothered since he was still a minor. Jisung nodded in response as he was biting on his lip as he continued to remember all the details, "There were a few people that interacted with him at school. I knew that Jinyoung hyung was Sanha hyung's friend. But, I also started to find out who was bothering him."
"Who are they?"
"Na Jaemin, Lee Chan, Boo Seungkwan, and Lee Donghyuck were apparently known to bother Sanha. I also knew that he liked Kwon Eunbin, and they were in a relationship...but it was never confirmed since she would never talk about him... I also knew that Kim Sohee was interacting with him."
Gyuri wrote down each name as she started to figure out who might be the real suspects behind this case. She clicked her pen a few times before she carefully asked, "Do you know why he might have made such decision?"
Jisung sighed to himself before shaking his head as he seemed to be more guiltier than before. "I knew that he was going through family issues, but he never made any comment on it either. His parents are out of the country, and he's the only child...it's possible that he was alone the entire process. I am not sure whether he has a diary of some sort."
"I'm aware that they checked his house to find that his mother came back recently...to check if it was really Sanha."
"Yeah, I also know that his mother would visit from time to time. But nothing more was said since he kept things stuck inside him."
It seemed that the conversation was coming to a close as Jisung started to fidget with his jacket. Gyuri closed her notebook and placed her pen and notebook into her tote. Jisung stared at her quietly before he spoke up once more for a last sort of information, "I also am aware that the school's lawyer is around much more often than usual."
"Your school even has a lawyer?"
"Well, we are an expensive school..it wouldn't make sense if we didn't have one."
Gyuri smiled innocently as she reached her hand over to gently pat Jisung's head as she thanked him, "Thank you for taking your time to tell me everything. I know it would have been tough to talk to people who take this case to another level. But I'm here to talk with you whenever you need to. I'm also known as Dr. Jang since I also went to medical school for a bit before I quit to fully focus on criminal justice."
"Does that mean you're not a Dr.?"
"Well, somewhat. But it's easier to just to be called that since I'm not a full police officer."
Jisung bowed respectively before he left the cafe. Gyuri followed after him so that he would get on the bus safely as Jisung turned his head quietly to stare at the other. He then commented before he actually got on, "I want the truth to be told. He is not someone to hurt himself...let alone be falling off a building....there is something hidden behind the walls. I wish you can reveal it."
Gyuri nodded with a bright, warm smile that made Jisung finally smile back as well. She wiped the tears off his cheeks before taking a step back from the bus, "I promise that I will do my best to reveal what happened. You can trust me, Jisung."
