All Gryffindors were called to the great hall. I headed down with the twins and Lee. There stood Professor McGonagall in the middle of the hall with Flich behind her setting up what looked to be music. "Come in students. Please girls on the right and boys to the left." We all separated, and I sat down in the chair next to Ginny. I could see Lee and the twins standing at the back talking like the naughty children they are. I saw Fred smile over to me and nodded his head and I smiled back and then looked back at Professor McGonagall. "Now as some of you may have heard, you will not be returning home for this Christmas as part of the Triwizard Tournament a Yule ball shall be held in the castle on Christmas eve." At the mention of the ball everyone started to talk about it. "Silence everyone. Now the Yule ball is formally a dance and as a result of this we are here to learn to dance." I heard as all the boys begin to complain. "Enough, the house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you in a course of an evening disgrace that name by acting like a babbling bumbling bunch of baboons." I watched as Fred whispered something into George's ear and they started to talk. "Now to dance is to let the body breath. Inside every girl a secret swan is in slumber, waiting to take flight." McGonagall said as she glided towards us girls.
"Something about to burst out of Eloise's nose but, I don't think it's a swan." Ron said loudly and all the boys giggled around him. I rolled my eyes at what a dick he was being. "In every boy a cowardly lion prepares to pounce." McGonagall walked over towards where Ron sat and I watched as Ron slumped in his chair. "Mr Weasley!" McGonagall called on him. "Yes" he said in a timid voice. I smiled. Serves him right. McGonagall motioned for him to rise. "Now place your right hand on my waist." I watched as Ron's eyes widened. "Where?" I burst out laughing. "On my waist. Mr Filch if you please." Mr Filch put on the music and McGonagall started to move with Ron. "Now everyone on your feet." All the girls rose from there seats while the boys remained where they were. "Boys!" on your feet commanded McGonagall. I watched as Neville slowly rose from his seat and Ginny walked over to him and started to dance. I was to busy watching them dance that I hadn't notice Fred come up behind me. "Miss Holmes would you dance with me?" "Oh, fine if I have to." I said and took his hand and we began to dance around the great hall. Fred was spinning me round and round until I felt my legs give way. Fred grabbed my waist and pulled me towards his chest. I looked up into Fred's eyes. And he looked down at mine. "Are you alright?" he asked quietly. "Yes. I am." He smiled at me and seemed to be leaning in when we were interrupted by McGonagall and quickly Fred and I stepped away from each other. "Well that concludes this dance lesson. Now I wish to see you all in beautiful gowns and dress robes on Christmas eve. You are all dismissed." Everyone started to leave the great hall. I looked over at Fred and we caught each other's gaze. I quickly looked away. I thought about, if we hadn't entrusted what if we had kissed what if the reason he was leaning in was to kiss me.
