I sat on my bed in the dorm trying to decide what I was going to do with my hair. I heard the door open. I looked up to see Ginny. She was in her dress and looked wonderful. "Rose! What are you doing!? The ball starts in an hour and you're not dressed!" "I didn't know what to do with my hair." I huffed. "I can help, here turn around I'll do it quick." I felt as Ginny gently started doing my hair. About ten minutes later Ginny was finished. "There all done." Ginny held up the mirror. She had done a braided crown. I got up and pulled her into a hug. "Awe, Ginny thank you!" "Anytime, now go get ready. I'll meet you at the ball. "I nodded and watched as she left. I grabbed my dress. I had gotten my dad to send it to me. It was one my mother wore to their first date she went to with my dad. I slipped it on, and it was beautiful. It was white at the top with pretty lace. As it went down it changed to different colours. It reminded me of my eyes. I grabbed my black heels and put them on. I then did some light makeup. I saw my eyes were a bright blue. Once I was happy with my look, I headed to the Yule ball. I walked down to the great hall and saw no one on my way there. I was planning on meeting George near the great hall doors. I was nervous for my friends to see me. I had refused to show them my dress. I got to the steps near the Great Hall and looked around the corner to see my friends waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. They all looked wonderful. I saw Fred and George standing together. They were all laughing "Well here goes nothing." I muttered to myself.

We all stood just before the doorway to the great hall. We were all waiting for Rose. Ginny told us she would be down in a few. Angelina stood to my right and George stood to my left. Lee and his date stood up against the wall. We were all joking around. I couldn't wait to see Rose in her dress. Lee looked up to the stairs. "Wow." Was all he said. We all looked to the stairs and there coming down the stairs was Rose. Both George and my jaw dropped. She was gorgeous. She wore a white strapless topped dress with different colours mixed in together at the bottom. The colours matched her eyes when they changed colour. Her hair was in curls on her back and her light make-up made her eyes look brighter than ever. I couldn't believe it was her. She came and stood in our circle. "Oh my gosh, Rose you look lovely." Angelina said. "Lovely, you look bloody amazing." Lee said in awe. She giggled nervously and her eyes began to change to a brown with a hint of pink. "Thank you, guys, you all look great to." "I hardly recognised you Rose." George said with a smile. "Thank you, George." She then looked at me with those eyes I could get lost in. "Fred are you okay?" She asked in a shy voice. I finally came back to reality. "What, umm yeah I am fine. You look great." We all stood there for a bit in silence, until Lee broke it. "Why don't we head in?" "That is a great idea." Rose said. We all headed in and sat down at a table together. We sat talking for a bit until the Champions came in with their dates.

Fred was acting strange and not his bubbly self. I sat in between him and George while Angelina sat to the left of Fred. Lee sat next to George and his date next him. We all were talking when the Champions entered with their dates next to them. Cedric and Cho came first. I sent a warm smile to Ced. He looked at me with shock and I knew he couldn't believe his eyes. Then came Fleur and Davis. After them was Victor Krum and I couldn't believe my eyes, but Hermione was next to him. Then came Harry and one of the Parvati twins. They all started to dance and opened the dance floor. "Well, Miss Holmes, care to dance?" George asked with his hand out. "I would love to Mr Weasley." I said with a smile and took his hand. He led me to the dance floor. He took my waist and I put my one hand on his shoulder, and we held hands with our free hand, and we began to dance. "You do look wonderful tonight Rose." He smiled at me. "Thank you, George, you are not too bad yourself." He gave me one of his award-winning smiles. "Well I only aim to please and besides I think you shocked my dear brother." I scoffed slightly. "What do you mean?" "Well let's just say he regrets not asking you to the ball." "Oh, come on George. Be serious. If he wanted to go with me, he would have asked me not Angie. We had this discussion in the library." "I am" he protested. "I have never seen him look at someone the way he looked at you coming down those stairs." "Don't start George. He and I are just friends and you are crazy if you think we are anything else." He just laughed at me. "I have known for a while I am crazy, but I do know my brother loves you." I just shook my head at him and continued our dance. We finished the song and went to sit down.
