The guard on the left hopped up and down.

“Halt! You there! Halt! You can’t just waltz on in here! The town has just been attacked! Which means the Castle could be attacked at any moment!” The guard on the left said.

Mario and Luigi step away from the guards.

“Lady Lima has instructed us not to allow anyone to enter the Castle! Anyone whatsoever!”

Mario and Luigi wondered who Lady Lima is and does everyone have bean names like how everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom has “mush names”.

“Having said that, if you still wish to enter, you must explain your names and your motives!” The guard on the left explained.

Mario and Luigi knew they would have to explain they were famous and from the Mushroom Kingdom because these guards definitely didn’t know.

“I’m Mario!.” Mario explained.

“WHAT!” The guard on the right said jumping. “You are the world-famous Mario!?!

“I’m Luigi!” Luigi said.

“And YOU are the legendary Luigi!?!”

The guard on the left side turns and looks at the other guard.

“Uh, Luigi who?!?” He asks.

“Shh! I have no idea…” 

Luigi falls on the ground. In his mind nobody knows who he is, but of course everyone knows who Mario is.

Luigi gets back up as the guard on the left talks.

“If you really are the superstar Mario from the Mushroom Kingdom, then prove it!” He said.

Mario figured the only definitive way to prove that was to jump and show them, so he does just that.

The guard on the right moves back a little and looks frightened.

“Surely you know who I am!” Mario said.

He doesn’t say anything for a few seconds.

“Th-That jump…” He finally says. “No mistaking it!!!” He said hopping up and down.

The guard on the left looks at the guard on the right again.

“Th-This guy is really Mario???” He asks.

He turns and looks at the guard on the right.

“Shh! ...I  can’t be certain.” The guard said.

Mario falls on the ground.

Now Luigi was laughing in his head because they don’t know who Mario is and usually everyone does.

“Anyway… What business would the famous Mario and Lui-uh… other guy have in this castle?” The guard on the right asked while Mario got up off the ground.

“Well you see Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom’s voice was stolen by Cackletta and we are here to get it back!” Mario explained.

“Yeah and we rescued Prince Peasley. He told us to come here!” Luigi added.

“Hmm! Ah! Ho ho! Ahhh! Ohhh! I see! Gotcha!” The guard on the right said.

The other guard turned and looked at him.

“What do they want?” He asked.

He turned and looked.

“No clue…” He said as Mario and Luigi fell on the ground.
