I pulled my art sketchbook from my locker and closed it. I had been in this school a few days and I was starting to get used to things.

I knew where all my classes were and the house was nearly finished. No more brown cardboard boxes.

"Hey!" A familiar peppy voice said beside me. I've spoken to Rae a couple of times during the week and it was safe to call her my friend. She usually disappeared at lunchtime but we sat together in some classes.

I turned to see her coming up to me, a broad arm wrapped around her shoulder.

I greeted her and couldn't help looking at the guy beside her. He had dark features and was taller than anyone else in the hall. He wore a funny graphic t-shirt and was looking down at Rae.

Unless Rae has multiple boyfriends, then this must be Austin.

"You must be Austin" I voiced my thoughts staring up at the boy.

"Talking about me?" He said to his girlfriend and she rolled her eyes.

"I'm Haley" I stated.

"Come on we need to go to class" Rae detangled herself from him and grabbed my hand.

"Pleasure meeting you Haley" he bowed waving his hand. "Remember gorgeous you're coming to mine after school!" Austin shouted at Rae causing multiple people's heads to turn.

She grinned and gave him a thumbs-up as we walked side by side to the art room.

"So what are we doing for this project? We haven't even picked a theme" I said.

"Should we do 'our space'? We can get one of the big canvases! Do it literally and paint a big space universe or something" she suggested.

"Aren't Kyle and Aisha doing that?" I asked.

"Woah what happened to your head?" Rae said as she noticed it.

Before I could answer we arrived at the art room. People were already at their tables talking and some were even gathering their paints and supplies that they needed. I turned my head to see Ms Aik at her desk flipping through a book about plants with a student.

"Something that happened yesterday," I said to her. I was sporting a purple and blue-ish bruise from yesterday and I didn't like it at all, it looked hideous. Thankfully my hair hid a bit of it.

We walked to our table and I noticed a certain someone else sitting there.

His head turned to us and he smiled widely at us as we walked over.

"Luke this is....." Rae began but she was interrupted.

"New girl" he acknowledged me by bowing his head slightly.

"Soccer boy" I answered back as I sat in my seat. I was struggling not to grin thinking about yesterday.
He was extremely apologetic and nervous which made him ten times cuter than he appeared. His brown locks and charming smile were just a bonus.
