I sighed as I poured myself another cup of Coke. My go-to party drink.
The night was half gone and there were now twice as many people at the party.
The music was pounding from the living room to the kitchen and I could just spot Austin, Rae and Haley standing in the corner of the room. Haley and Rae laughed at something he said while people danced in front of them.My eyes travelled to Haley, like they always did, as she laughed and I stared at her gorgeous smile. She looked so beautiful when I first saw her earlier tonight I choked on my drink.
Very cool Luke.
Her newly worn heels complimented her long legs and she was almost as tall as me in them.
Her brown hair bounced as she laughed with Rae and her smile looked flawless as she giggled at Remi losing a game of beer pong.
Her dress made any guy in the room gaze at her but she took no notice of them."Hey Luke" a voice appeared beside me. I ripped my eyes away from Haley and picked up my drink.
A familiar girl was standing next to me looking up and smiling."Hey," I greeted, trying to be polite. I had no idea who this girl was.
"Julie!" She pointed to herself and laughed. "From Coast Academy?"
Fuck.
Now I remember her.
"Oh yeah hey"
I was...sort of friends with her last year. Would I call her a friend? Andrew introduced me to her because he was attempting to get in her friend's pants. I can't remember every detail but I know I slept with her during spring break.
I completely forgot.
"I haven't seen you in a while. You know there's a game of Truth or Dare going on upstairs" she giggled while pushing back her curly red hair. "Want to join?"
"I really should uh get back to..." My mind was failing to come up with an excuse to get away from this girl.
"Oh come on" she laughed again and now her hand was on my shoulder. "It's really fun"
She stared up at me smiling.
"Sorry Jane" I answered, not paying attention while abandoning my drink and immediately turning around. I quickly walked through the door and went back to Austin, Rae and Haley.
I let out a sigh, thankful to be away from the kitchen. I looked up to see Austin and Rae making their way outside and Haley waiting for me at the fireplace.
I walked over to her and she smiled up at me, my body immediately relaxed when she did."Hey," she smiled as I stared at her. "Where's my drink?" She laughed gesturing to my empty hands.
Haley has had a few drinks and to be honest she was being very amusing.
It was like at Bryce's party sitting on the grass. She was bubbly and carefree while also laughing at everything."Haven't you had enough?" I chuckled.
"Okay party pooper" she whispered her noise scrunching slightly.
