Chapter 17.

"Ooo what about this one?" Rae gushed taking another top of the clothing rack.

Austin and Luke groaned in unison behind us and I laughed at them.

"Very cute," I said smiling at her.

She pointed towards the dressing rooms and grabbed my hand pulling me towards them.

"How much longer is this gonna last?" Austin moaned.

I had a few hangers in my hands that held some clothes I wanted to buy. Spring was approaching, temperatures were rising and I wasn't accustomed to the California weather yet.

Rae ran into a dressing room and both the boys sat down on the chairs provided in front of them.

"Do you guys need help with anything?" A worker approached us smiling.

"Yeah kill us" Luke muttered and Austin sniggered.

I scolded them and smiled back at her "No thank you, we're fine"

She nodded and went back to the store.

"Behave" Rae warned from behind the curtain.

"We've been at the mall for two hours!"

I giggled as I waved at them before going into a changing room for myself. Pulling off my jeans and top I tried on a jacket.

It was a washed leather jacket that was oversized on me but didn't weigh me down so much. I turned once looking at myself and plopped it into the buy pile.

I tried on a pair of dark mom jeans that fell immediately loose on my stomach dropping to my hips. Cute but way too big.

Then I switched into a silk dress I found. This dress wasn't for everyday wear but it looked beautiful and I knew I had to try it on. It would be ideal for a party or fancy dinner date.
It was red and it was backless. I smiled to myself and put it in the buy pile.

Then I tried on another dress. which was a weird purple colour and fitted me all wrong.
I put my clothes back on and stepped out of the changing rooms.

"Finally," Austin said. "Can we go?"

He stood up but Luke pulled him back down and pointed at the changing room where Rae wasn't finished.

Austin huffed and sat back down stomping his feet like a child and I laughed while putting the clothes I wasn't purchasing away.

"I want Cinnabon" Luke mumbled.

"I want a pretzel," Austin said after him and they high-fived.

"Well, Rae and I can go get Cinnabon and pretzels while you two can go to Sweetgreen across the mall" I teased and both of them grunted in unison.

They both still had their sports diets to keep on.

"This sucks ass" Austin exclaimed and a mother with her daughter glanced at us in horror and Austin went red.

Then Rae came out of the changing room laughing at them.

"Find anything?" I asked as we went to pay.

"Yes, all of these" She held up a mountain of clothing. "What about you?"

I held my hangers up and she gasped. "The jacket! And the dress is so gorgeous" she exclaimed then looked at me knowingly and grinned. "Are they for anything in particular?"

I glanced at Luke behind me, who was laughing while Austin stared towards the lingerie section of the store.
He looked back and his eyes met mine.

"Nope," I grinned as we stopped in the line.
