Zoe's POV

I closed Zoe's passenger side door and walked around to my side.

We arrived in A&E. I held Zoe by her waist and walked her into the waiting room. There was tonnes of other people already sitting down in the waiting room. It was going to take forever. I walked over to the reception desk and tapped on the surface. A bright faced, middle aged woman turned around in her chair.
"Oh...my....goodness!" She silently squealed.
"Hey," I smiled. She took down Zoe's details and told me about how her daughters are obsessed with my little group of friends. It's always nice to meet a fan.
"Oh, and Alfie?" She asked as I went to find a seat for Zoe.
"I've put you to the top of the waiting list," she finished, covering the side of her mouth. I smiled and mouthed 'thank you'. We eventually found an empty plastic chair. I sat down and brought Zoe up onto my lap. She rested her head into my chest. Tears continued to fall from her gorgeous eyes.
"Zoe, Joe'll come round," I whispered to her.
"What if he doesn't," she said, sniffling.
"He will, trust me," I replied. I pressed my lips against her forehead. She buried her face into my white t-shirt. Her makeup would probably stain it. But I didn't care.

A brief ten minutes later, Zoe was called into one of the doctors rooms. I picked her up off my lap and place her feet slowly on the ground. She took her okay hand in mine and we walked to the door.
"Hello Zoe," the doctor chirped.

She was examined, X-Rayed and given a cast. I helped her back into the car and did her seatbelt.
"It's like looking after a child," I joked. She sniffled out a laugh. I hated seeing her so upset.
"Why don't you take a nice bath when we get back, take your mind off things," I suggested. She nodded and smiled. I placed my hand on her thigh as we drove off. She looked at me and smiled again.
"Keep that smile on," I said, removing my hand from her thigh and caressed her cheek.
"It won't be on for much longer if you don't concentrate on the road!" She giggled. I removed my hand and placed it back on the steering wheel.
"Thank you," she giggled again. Sweet, happy, smiley Zoe was back.
