- New Beginnings -
Zoe's POV
I was so relived to be leaving the hospital. The stench of rubber gloves and bleach was enough for one week. Gabby had officially let me move in with her. We'd share the rent and the bills between us, which was fair.

Alfie pulled up outside Gabby's apartment building.

"I'm gonna really miss you Zo," he frowned. I pressed my cold lips against his warm ones. The heat from his body instantly radiated onto mine.

"It'll be okay, it's for the best," I sighed. I could see tears forming in his waterline. "Hey silly, don't cry," I said, placing my thumb to his eyes and wiping away the tears.

"I'm gonna miss you little one," he choked, forcing a tiny smile.

"It's only temporary," I said, opening my door and swinging my legs out of the car. He waved as I shut the door. I walked around to the boot of the car and grabbed my suitcases. He smiled and slowly drove. I mouthed a quick 'I love you' as his gaze turned from me, onto the road.

The pizza man handed me the two boxes as I simultaneously handed him the cash. I said a friendly thank you and shut the door.

"Pizza's here!" I shouted to Gabby who was already in the kitchen grabbing napkins.

"Yumm," she smiled, breathing in a huge wiff of pizza goodness. I set the two boxes on the coffee table and opened up mine, immediately transfixed by the smell.

"Zo," Gabby smirked as I took a bite. I scooped the hanging cheese into my mouth and nodded, mumbling a yes. "I need to tell you something," she sighed.

"I'm all ears," I giggled. She looked to the floor mumbled something so quietly I couldn't hear. "What?" I said, hoping she had the courage to repeat it.

"I'm dating Joe..." She said a little louder. My jaw instantly dropped to the floor.

"Oh my goodness, Gabby that's great," I smiled. It took a few minutes for my brain to process. Surprisingly I was happy. Joe dating Gabby meant them seeing more of each other. Me living with Gabby meant me seeing LOTS more of her. Which then meant I'd see more of Joe.

"I hope you don't mind, I know you two are on bad terms at the moment," she innocently smiled.

"Gabby it's brilliant, you and Joe dating means that he's got to accept me back again sometime," I giggled. She giggled with me, taking her first bite of pizza.

I got myself under my bed covers and  found myself staring at a picture of me and Alfie on the pier, moments before I had a panic attack. I smiled at his little piece of hair that was stuck up in the wind. I placed my lips onto the glass, pecking the picture. I know living apart was for the best, but I did miss him. I reached for the lamp switch and flicked it. The room instantly went black, allowing me to sleep.
