"HEY!!" Emilia swam as fast as she could after the prince, who never looked back,, "Wher are you going?!"
He whipped around to face her, his blue eyes were blazing. "Everyone has to leave. We can't fight! We are a peaceful kingdom, not like Leven where they train their mermen in combat! Look!" He pointed at the kingodom, where all the merfolk who had made their homes there were swimming away into the water like an explosion. Some of them were scrreaming.
The two of them swam away from the chaos and Emilia realized there were mer-pirates swimming overhead, aiming spears at them. "Look out!" She yelled at the prince, and they narrowly dogged the spears shooting through the water. Weaving around the weapons, they finally found a small den-like space underneath a large rock in the ocean floor. The two o f them sat there panting.
"What... do... we... do... now..?" Emilia questioned, looking at the prince. He didn't answer, and was gazing only at the horific battle in front of him. She tried to place her hand on his back, bet he shoved her away. "You don't get it, do you?! My kingdom, my HOME is in danger!" his shouts echoed through the cave they were in, and the wall began to shake. "You're just an outsider! This is not YOUR destiny-" A piece of the ceiling suddenly fell, and crashed on top of him. Emilia peered inside and she could only see his sharp, blue eyes peering back at her.
"I'm going to help you." She decided this, and set to work lifting the piece off of him. His muffled voice spoke in protist. "I don't need your help, outsider." "Ummm... you kind of do," she sarcasstically answered. He grumbled, but in agreement this time, as he couldn't get out himself.
When she was done, they sat opposite eacvh other, and she found herself staring into his strikinglyy blue eues. They looked sad, but hopeful. "Well, thank you I guess," he muttered. "Well, thank you for saving me before," she muttered back. For a moment, their eyes connected and the war seemed to disappear.
His face hardened again suddenly. "But you're still a human weakling, and an excuse for the chosen one. Which is me,by the way." Emilia sighed. She had almost gotten to him. Why did she feel such a pang of dissapointment at this? Why should she care about what the arrogant prince thought ofh her?! She shook her head. She didn't care at all. "Fine," she retorted, "we'll see how much of a chosen one you are when you watch me save the kingdome." she swam away, leaving him behind like he had left her during the attack, and sighed to herself. It was back to being enemies again.
