Emilia opened her smaragdine orbs to see that she was in a cage. She sat up adbruptly, glancing around wildly, as she realized that she was locked in a cage!! She swam up and ignored the dizzyness in her head that was throbbing at her heart and she grabbed the bars and shook them. “Hello?! Help???” No matter how hard she pushed against the bars, there fierce iron would not move.

She screamed for help and tried to get out any psosible way until her voice was horse and she was exaughsted and she collapsed to the bottom of the cage her shoulders shaking softly as she cried. She was compeltly and utterly TRAPPEd. She was in a dark cafe locked up inside a metal cage with no way out and it was so cold here on the cage floor inside the stone cave. And there was growths everywhere springing from the shadows: grousome plants thath ad vines that crawkled along the floor and reached into the cage that Emilia was in like slithering fingers, and dead seaweed along the cage floor. Among all this terrible situation, now she was exaughsted beyond belief and all she wanted to do was wepp and sink down to the ground but she couldn’t even lay down comfortably cause all these creepy scenery plants were littering the floor. This seaweed is so freaking annoying.

Amidst her pleas and anguish, a sound echoed throughout the darkness.  It was the sound of someone breathing, slow and darkly!  Emilia glanced around wildly, trying to find the source of this creppy noise but it seemed to move everytime she did.  Suddenly, there was a loud swishing sound and the breathing stopped, only to be replaced with a light on the bars of the cage.  Slowly, it extendied until the thin form of Finn was revealed, his once sweet face long and pale in the glow.

She met his eyes and pulled herself up to his level.  “Finn!” she yelled, her memor of what happened still fuzzy, “What’s going on?!  I need your help!!!”  For a second, his eyes flashed with kindness and remorse.  His hand crept toward hers and she reached longingly for his soothing touch.  As they met though, he slapped her hand away and is mouth moved into a sickening grin.  “Hello, Emilia” he spoke in a deeper voice than the one she had known, “You don’t need help.  This is where you belong.”

Her green optics flashed in the dimly lit cafe. “You?! YOU were the cause behind all this? You BETRAYED Me and locked me up and- Why would you do this?! Why would you do this all in the first place? What were you trying to-” Suddenly she stopped, and her heastomach dropped to her kneecaps as she felt a sickening realization. Her voice grew cold and quiet. “Did you kill Marina?”

Finn’s face was nothing like the kind merman she had known before. It looked stony and unresponsive. His eyes were shadowed by the absance of light in the cave. When he spoke, his voice cameo ut as an uncaring, low growl. ;”I can’t believe you fell for it. You really thought some random mer-pirate just stabbed MArina and left? Hah! Well it wasn’t just any mer-pirate, it was the merpireate spy! ME!” Emilia gasped. “YOU?!?!?! You’re a MERPIRATE?!!!!”

Finn laughed couldly. “I joined them when everything was taken from me.”  He looked away for a second and his expression contorted into one filled with a deep sadnes.  Emilia reached her hand through the cave, but before she could speak to him, he turned and shouted at her.  “EVERYTHING!”  Emilia staggered backward, her eyes wide with fear.  “Good,” he remarked coldy, “You should have to feel all the fear that I felt!”  “Finn, I-I d-don’’t understand-” Emilia stammered.

“What?!” he growled, “You want to help me, heal me with all your special little chosen one magic?”  he mocked.  “You can’t.  You can’t heal another human.”  This caused Emilia to stop her pleas.  “W-what? But...your a MERMAN!”  He glared at her and then started to laugh slowly, until it grew into a chaotic, uncontrolled mass.  “Unlike you, Emilia,, I never wanted to be a merman!”  He then grew quiet and cold again, as he explained his story.  “I was cursed….It happened when i was only 3, a mere, sweet, innocent, CHILD,Emilia!  The mer-pirates kidnapped me and my sister, pulled us under the water and trapped us as they completed their spell.  I still remember that day, the feeling of breathlessness as I clamored to swim to the surface, teh slow way the spell crept up my body, my lungs, my heart.”  He laughed and sarcastically remarked, “the good ol’ days, huh Emilia?”
