It had been a few days since Emilia had left the world which she felt she belonged in. She had spent the last few days holed up in her room, dreading coming out in fear of her father's wrath. However, today she had accepted it. She would neverget back and so the best option was to try to please her father. She slipped her clothes on early that morning and went downstairs. She picked up her backpack for school and pulled it on. "Father, I'm going to school now." As she was about to walk out the door, she heard her fathers sneer yell: "You idiot! It's Saturday!" Emilia felt a blush fill her cheeks and she threw off her bag. However, she was still halfway outside the door. She felt as if she was stuck between two worlds, and couldn't bring herself to go back to the one she had come from.! Without looking back, she started to run, tears flowing down her face as she knew what she had to try. When she arrived at the beach, she instinctively ran for the bright blue, beckoning, brilliant, bedazzling, blue water and dove in.
She was dissoriented at first, since she expected to feel her mermaid tail swish into existance, but she only felt her skinny legs kicking hard against the waves, throwing up clouds of sand. She held her breath and narrowed her bright emerald eyes, determined. Saltwater had never bothered her eyes since she had been exposed to it so much all her life. She pushed harder and eventually got out of the crashing waves of the shallows, and she swam deeper. She had to find her ring somehow. The ocean looked endless and dagnerous, even sufocating now that she was a mere human, but it called to her. She felt the pull of the prophecy, knowing that tshe had to save the sea and she could only do it if she had her ring.
She sank lower and lower into the ocean as she searched. Her breath started to run out, and she gasped for air as a current swept past her, sending her spiraling. Her eyes were not fitted to this darkness as a human, and so she couldn't find the surface above her. Her breath was fleeting now, and she felt the blood rushing to her head as she desperately gasped for air. The last thing she saw was a glimpse of light, and a large shadow in front of her.
***Time Skip8*********
When she opened her eyes, the ocean above her seemed lighter. She looked around, unsure of what just happened. She slowly took a deep breath to see if she had truly transformed once again. Suddenly, she felt something beneath her and tried to swim away from its grasp but it held on. A voice came softly from near her ear. "Emilia..?" it asked hesitantly. She turned her head to the sound, and saw the deep ocean blue eyes of the prince staring back at her. She was resting weakly in his arms. He had saved her! (Ooh, the prince is being nice for once xD) She gazed into his eyes, unsure of what to say, how to thank him. "Emilia. You're... alive? Marina, she's alive!" he called.
Emilia croaked, "you s-saved me?" she stammered weakly. The prince narrowed his eyes. "Well, I.. I couldn't just let you die. It was nothing." He put her down on the ocean bed, turned around, and swam away as Marina rushed over to her.
"Ohmygawd, you're alive! SHE'S ALIVE EVERYONE! EMILIA THE ENCHANTRESS IS-"
A new voice interrupted dissdainfully, "Ok, ok, we get it, the special chosen one is back. We should really be paying more attention to the Prince, who was the one who got the ring back from the pirate sin the first place!" The voice came from a mermaid with sleek black hair pulled tightly into a ponytail, a red tail with a matching red seashell bra, and very red lipstilck. She looked at the prince with her icy blue eyes, her extravagent jewelry jingled as she turned her head.. "Right, Your Highness?" The prince rolled his dark eyes.
Emilia looked up at Marina, confused. "Who is that?" she inquired. "Oh, her?" Marina gossiped, "She's Amelia. Oh! But not like you, Emilia! No, she's A-melia, with an A! See you have an E in your name and she has an A and it was very confusing at first-"
"I'm pretty sure she knows how to spell her own name, Marina," the prince chided amusedly, swimming over with a smirk. Amelia immediately swished over to his side. "Come here," she demanded, batting her long, curled eyelashes at him. "I, um, just remembered something I need to tell you." She grabbed his hand and led him away.
Emilia gazed at the two of them as they swam away. She hadn't even been able to thank him. "Don't worry about her!" Marina chimed in, sensing her feelings. "Now he might not show it but the prince actually waited near the surface of the water everyday, hoping you'd return. He won't admit to it, but I just thought I'd let you know." She gave Emilia a wink and swam away. As Emilia sat up weakly, she saw Finn approaching cautiously from the distance, as if he was afraid she wasn't really there. "...Emilia?" He murmured. She grinned and patted for him to sit next to her. "I'm so sorry about thr other night. I left your side and your ring got taken. It's all my fault." Finn cried. "Finn...no...it's ok." Emilia exclaimed, comforting him. "You gave me half of my confidence to dive back into the water and return here." A blush filled his cheeks and she put her hand on his. "Let's save the ocean together this time!" She grinned, and he nodded.
"Hey, lovebirds, time to go!" the prince's voice growled in the distance. "W-we're not..!" EMilia yelled before composing herself. "Oh, whatever. Let's go." They swam off to the distance, and Emilia knew she was back home at last!!!
