Shortly after leaving the Ice Trial with Rigel's blessing, Andrew enters a dark room. He takes a couple steps around, and streaks of lightning whizz around him, driving him to concern.
With each passing moment, the lightning begins to move faster.
"What is this...." Andrew asks himself as thunder permeates the room.
He tries to attack, but suddenly a large blast of lightning appears in front of him.
In front of his eyes appears the deity of Lightning, Voltero.
"Could you not have picked a more pleasant way to enter a room?" Andrew asks with a groan in his voice.
"You're one to talk, Trialist."
"Who the hell do you think yo-"
A tiny zap of lightning strikes near Andrew, spooking him slightly.
"Now that I have your undivided attention, allow me to introduce myself. I am Voltero, deity of Lightning and Electricity. It seems to me you have only completed 2 of the trials. Impressive. Utmost impressive.
Not many magicians make it this far, some die trying to pass this one for that matter."
"Well... I had about 11 years of experience as a magician." Andrew says to Voltero.
"Hmm. I'm surprised nevertheless. You come from somewhere, right?"
"Snowballia."
"Sn-what?"
"Snowballia."
"Strange. Last I heard Solara called it Eterna. Must've been the Kernius bloodline who changed it. Or was it you who came up with that strange name?"
"No. No way I would've called it that. I think it was King Kernius V who did it."
"Either way, you seem to have come for one purpose. Raw, unlimited power the likes of which some will never see. The Aetherforce itself lies ahead for those who pass my trial.
But you must first obtain my blessing, which will grant immeasurable speed and amplified electric abilities.""Ooh. How will I get through this one."
"Forget setting you up against large scale creatures with electric abilities. Most of em are extinct anyways, and you would've made it a cake walk.
I challenge you to a race, one on one.
The winner must be able to outrun me for long periods of time while testing your overall agility, responsiveness, and perception of time. And I'll remind you now, I am much faster than anyone you've faced."
"This just got a whole lot more interesting." Andrew said.
Several seconds later, the room begins to light up, and Voltero begins to take his place in the challenge.
Andrew stands adjacent to him, preparing himself to race the deity of Lightning.Voltero looks at him and smiles trickingly, sparks of lightning fly around him as he runs far ahead of Andrew, leaving him in the dust.
"Might as well." He responds with annoyance as he begins to catch up to Voltero.
It takes roughly 3 minutes for Andrew to get to Voltero's position as they begin to run side by side in an endless race.
"Well, looks like you finally caught up with me. Now it's time to see if you'll be able to dodge THIS!!!" He says as he hurls a thunderbolt at Andrew, causing him to lag behind a little bit.
"Really?! Come on!"
"Get moving slowpoke." Voltero scoffs at the trialist as he speeds off, Andrew following behind.
