"Yeah, and then my mo-" I ended as soon as I started as I realized Pam's gaze had switched from me to something- or someone- behind me.

I quickly turned my gaze towards the something/someone as I realized it was Michael. My fist instinct was to shout 'Happy birthday' since that was the speciality of today, but then I thought about all the attention I would get and I didn't like that so once he came up to us, the first thing
I said to him was- "Happy birthday, Michael."  Pam and I had said in synch.

I playfully dropped my jaw as I looked behind me to high five Pam.

"What?" Michael asked, a big grin painted across his face as his eyes sparkled of happiness.

"We said, happy birthday, Michael." Pam said, turning her attention back to the screen where she had been previously playing poker as we spoke.

"Thank you two. That was very nice of you." He said, I sent him a warm smile as I leant on the desk.

"You excited?" He asked, Pam and I only nodded and hummed in response.

"Everybody freaking out?" He followed, taking a pink sticky note Pam had passed over to him as we responded in an identical manner.

"Cool." He said, scanning down the small paper.

I nodded over at him with a warm smile, as I nudged my head toward my desk.

"I'm gonna go take a seat. Catch up on work." I told him, waving bye to Pam as I muttered 'happy birthday' once again.

I trailed over to my desk and popped down on my uncomfortable chair with a sigh. I looked over a the messy haired boy who sat next to me to find he was already staring back at me with a bemused facial expression, but yet he still carried that beautiful smile.

"Why the long face?" He asked, propping his head up with his fist.

"Long day." I answered, smiling over at him.

"Not possible. We've only been here for about 30 minutes." He stated, chuckling as I slumped in my chair.

"Well, id rather not be here. I feel like their is too much weighing in today. So I'd rather be home, even if Val is there." I sighed once again. Jim smiled, leaning back into his chair.

"Speaking of..." He trailed off as I furrowed my eyebrows at him, pulling my chair closer to my desk as I sat up straight.

"When will I meet this, supposedly, infamous Valerie Ellison?" He asked, fidgeting in his chair.

I laughed slight, "I supposed....Never." I told him. He frowned.

"Why not? Are you embarrassed of me, Ellison?" He asked, I chuckled.

"It's the other way around." I claimed, he laughed.

"She can't be that bad. Plus, it must be nice having someone around." I thought about, finally nodding my head.

"Hmph." I responded, smiling over at him.

"So, Kev tell you anything?" Jim asked, I slowly shook my head, my smile instantly turning to ash.

Kevin, our co-worker, had been brought up in the suggestion he might have cancer by his doctor.

He told us all about it and after a while, we got him to take the test. But the results take forever, we were still currently waiting.

"No, although I'm sure it'll all work out just fine." I sighed, he nodded.

"Yeah,lets not get too worked up about it. Whatever happens, will happen. And it'll all be fine." He assured me, reaching over to place his hand on my shoulder.

But before he could, I reached out and grabbed him with my short arms.

"You're not going to break another goddamn widow, Jim."

~~~
"Obviamente, we have to get him M&Ms. Definitely." I told Pam and Jim as we strode down the isle of a small store like the adult-children we were.
"Get him the party pack!" Pam whisper yelled, I nodded tossing the large bag of Kevin's favorite candy into the cart.
A little while after we came in, the three of us had found that if Kevin did have cancer (skin cancer to be specific), he only had a week or more to live.
I can't believe how short life is. I should try to start living more. Taking more vacations. I need to get out there, I mean, you only live once. And I wanna live to the fullest.
Anyway, So we decided to sneak out of Dunder Mifflin while Dwight was preforming a strange 'ritual' on the birthday boy and grab some gifts for Kev.
However, we couldn't really do this in private or have to much fun seeing as the cameras were still following us out of the office, as usual.
"So, we got Kev some stuff." Jim explained to the camera as I nodded in the the back.
"Uh, party pack of M&MS, his favorite candy as you previously saw Lana grab." I raised my hand up from my spot in the back as I was being left behind for looking at unimportant stuff.
"That's me!" I yelled, immediately diverting my attention back to the pen that was in my hands.
"Lana!?" Pam whisper shouted as they turned a corner. I laughed as I ran over to them.
~~~

As we were walking down some more isles, a comfortable silence surrounded us.

While we turned the corner of a large isle, I spotted a mic that linked to the stores intercom.

"We should probably head back." Pam Warner us, letting her hand fall from previously checking her watch.

"Yeah. Okay." Jim said, disappointment laced into his tone.

"Hold on." I said, catching the attention of the two. I pointed towards the microphone.

Jim chuckled as Pam held a simple smile.

"I dare Pam, to make an announcement on it." I smiled as I looked over at Pam.

"How old are you guys?" She asked, clearly noticing my amused smile.

"I double-dare you." I added, taking a quick glance at Jim before looking over at Pam again.

She sighed as she headed over to the microphone, but before she left our side their was a visible smile on her face.

"Luke. I am your father." Pam started, cutting herself off halfway with a snort.

I just threw my head back with laughter. Once we had all calmed down, I saw a weird tool for potato's.

It interested me so I decided to check it out. As I was scanning the item, i heard my name in a pair.

"I have one more announcement before I leave back to my spaceship. Lana, Jim, grow a pair and date. Life's short. So just smooch already!" When I say I blushed-

I smiled as kept scanning the item, subtly glancing back at Jim to see him smiling at himself, with a blush on his face.

"Oh. Sorry."
