PENELOPE

I suddenly woke up when I didn't feel Sunny beside me. The sun is already up and no one seemed to wake me up. Mabilis akong nag-ayos ng sarili at tumungo sa baba. I stopped on my tracks when I saw a heart-warming scene in the dining.

Sinusubuan ni Darnell si Sunny, he looks really happy.

"Masarap?" nakangiting tanong ni Darnell sa anak

Sunny nodded her head happily. I've never seen her so happy like this.

Darnell suddenly looked at my direction, "Gising ka na pala. Mag-almusal ka na. Don't worry about Sunny, she's fine now. Wala na siyang lagnat." he assured me

He ordered one of the maids to make me a coffee. Pinaghain din niya ako habang patuloy niyang sinusubuan si Sunny. I am happy that he's here but I am also worried with his family. I don't want to take his time for his family.

"Wala ka bang trabaho ngayon?" I asked him

"I asked my secretary to bring some of my works here. I don't want to leave Sunny." nakangiting sabi niya

I sighed, "Darnell, I know she's your daughter. Hindi ko pinagkakait sa'yo ang karapatan mo pero sana intindihin mo rin ang sitwasyon natin. You're a married man, you have a family that you need to take care of."

I tried so hard to control my temper. Ayokong masanay ang bata na lagi siyang nandiyan, na parang isa kaming buong pamilya kahit hindi.

He froze for a moment and I saw how his jaw clenched. I looked away when he's about to look at me. I don't want to see his angry expression.

"We'll talk about that later." seryosong sabi niya

Pinapainom niya ng gamot si Sunny nang tumunog ang cellphone niya. He can't take the call dahil pinipilit pa rin niyang painumin si Sunny.

"Can you take that call, please?"

Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya at nagdadalawang-isip akong sinilip ang cellphone niya kung sinong tumatawag. It said, "Secretary", pretty obvious that it's his secretary.

"Sunny, come on. It's not bitter." he's still trying to make Sunny drink the medicine

I answered the phone call and put it on loudspeaker.

"Sir, sorry for the sudden call but we really need you here immediately. They suddenly arranged an emergency meeting for the board members. There's no other representative for Ma'am Hillary's company, so she had to go all the way here to attend the meeting." there's a trembing voice on the other line and it made me pity him a bit

"What's the agenda? Tell Hillary to go home, I can handle it. I'll be there." he said nonchalantly while still luring Sunny to take her medicine

Kinukuha ko ang gamot sa kanya para ako na sana ang magpainom ng gamot kay Sunny pero ayaw niya. Mukhang gusto niyang mapainom ng gamot si Sunny ng sarili niya lang.

"They want to appoint a new CFO. Sir, please be here immediately. Kayo na lang po ang hinihintay— Darnell, be here in five minutes! No, right now! Why do I have to go all the way here if I have you as the representative of both companies?! Be here, now! I want to sleep!" the call ended by that angry voice and I know who it was
