Chapter 10

DARNELL

Hindi mapalis ang ngiti sa labi ko habang pinapanood ko si mommy na tinatali ang buhok ni Sunshine. Her smile resembles Penelope's smile and it always make my heart melt. Mabilis na nagdaan ang mga buwan at mabilis din na lumalaki ang anak ko.

"Ateee!" she beamed when she saw Avery

Avery giggled and ran to her. They both looked lovely. Pareho silang nakapigtails at nakasuot din sila ng matching outfits na binili ni mommy sa kanila.

"Are you ready to leave?" nakangiting tanong ko sa kanilang dalawa

They both have a sleepover at my house. Hang on, that's not right. I have Kairro, too. Muntik ko na siyang makalimutan dahil tahimik lamang ito sa isang tabi at nagbabasa.

"Kuya, let's go!" yakag sa kanya ni Avery

Tahimik lang itong tumayo at ngumiti kay Avery at Sunshine na nakahawak sa magkabilang braso niya. It's nice to have them here and I really enjoy their company pero minsan naiisip kong masyado yatang nag-eenjoy ang mag-asawang Andrews sa pagiging babysitter ko. Not that I mind it, I actually love being with the kids.

"Wag kang malikot Sunny, okay? At wag mong tatanggalin ang seatbelt mo." bilin ni Kairro kay Sunshine habang nilalagay niya ang seatbelt nito

"Yes, kuya!" masiglang sabi ni Sunshine habang nakaupo sa car seat niya

Nakangiting ginulo ni Kairro ang buhok niya bago naupo sa passenger seat. He gave a one last look on Avery and Sunshine's seatbelt before looking at me. I gave him a 'what?'  look which made him sigh.

This kid, really!

"Tatay, seatbelt po." he said nonchalantly

Napakamot ako sa ulo ko kahit hindi naman makati at sinuot ang seatbelt ko. The kids started singing when Kairro turned on the music and played their favorite songs.

Hindi kalayuan ang bahay nila Penelope kaya nakarating din kami agad. Sinalubong kami ni Theo na mukhang walang trabaho ngayong araw. He looks so delighted when he saw Sunshine and Avery.

"Let's play chess again today, Kairro!" masiglang sabi nito

"Okay but I am sure you're gonna lose again." nakangising sabi ni Kairro sa kanya

Theo groaned and can't disagree because it's true. I laughed at them, I can imagine how Kairro will be when he grows up. He will be definitely like Grayson! He's training his son to be like him. Oh well, they match though because they have the same atittude.

"Mommy?" nakapout na tanong ni Sunshine sa amin

Oh, she must missed her mom. She's really attached to her mom which is not really surprising, Penelope is a good mother.

"Nasa rainbow room si mommy." nakangiting sagot ni Theo

Sunshine beamed when she heard the rainbow room, well, it's Penelope's painting room. But Sunshine calls it rainbow room dahil maraming mga pintura na nasa kwartong iyon. She ran towards the room and Avery followed her. Sumunod din ako sa kanila at pinigilan sila nang akmang bubuksan na nila iyon.

"Okay kids, anong gagawin niyo bago pumasok sa isang kwarto?"

Sunshine and Avery looked at each other before knocking at the door. They both looked at me after knocking. I patted their heads and complimented them.

Bumukas ang pinto at bumungad sa amin si Penelope na malawak na ngumiti nang makita ang mga bata. She's wearing a loose pants and a fitted tank top. Her hair is in a messy bun and there are traces of paints on her clothes and even on her face. It's her typical look whenever she's engrossed on painting.
