Where the troubles begin.
It's around eleven at night and I'm sitting in bed with my laptop on my lap and reading through my emails. A message pops out in the corner of my screen from Andrew so I click on his name and it was a video. I open it. There is a Christmas tree decorated with colorful lights and a big box on the floor beneath the tree. A boy who looks about 15-years-old walks in the frame of the video.
"Open it," A man's voice says from behind the camera. The boy gets closer and unwraps the box, and suddenly Andrew pops out of the box.
"What the..." he says as I hear probably Andrew's dad laughing behind the camera. Then the boy attacks Andrew with a hug that looks like it lasted forever. The video ends and I start typing a message.
"That reaction was priceless!" I type and hit send.
Andrew quickly reads it and answers, "Right, my dad can't stop watching it and laughing every time."
":)"
"So I can't stop thinking about how your mom called me your boyfriend," he messages.
"Aren't you my boyfriend?" I ask.
"I am but I loved how your mom said it," he says with a laughing icon.
I begin to type, "Andrew I need to tell you something," I then erase it because I don't want to ruin his mood, he's so happy right now.
"Hello? Emma are you still there?" He asks.
"Yeah sorry," I send.
"Emma, did anything happen? Did Sammy bother you?" He sends.
What should I tell him? Shoot! What am I supposed to say? He kissed me!?
"Oh no, he didn't bother me," I send him. I feel so guilty about lying to him.
"That's good. If he does tell me"
"What can you do about it? You're all the way in Michigan," I say as he sends me a frowning icon. "I didn't mean it like that," I say.
"I know J," he messages.
"I'll talk to you later," I type.
"Goodnight my girlfriend," he messages with a heart.
"Goodnight my knight and shining armor," I message back with a laughing icon.
I close my laptop and put it on my white nightstand beside me. I lay back in bed and look at the ceiling, the streetlights shine through my window and are brightening up my ceiling. I need to tell him, I have to. But how will I? I don't have the courage.
It's Christmas Morning I wake up finding my mom making breakfast in the kitchen.
"Good morning Mom," I say as I hug her from the back.
"Good morning Sweetie," she turns around putting down the spoon she was stirring with and hugs me.
"I made scrambled eggs!" She says with excitement.
"Yay! I miss your cooking. I always eat breakfast at the cafés near the University and I'm sick of them."
She laughs, "So after breakfast, you are opening your presents."
"Mom you didn't have to get me anything."
"Your father also brought you somethings," she starts. "Also Sammy dropped off a present for you."
