The date
I wake up to a bunch of people talking. I open my eyes as the morning light filled my whole room. I look next to me but Andrew is not here. I jump out of bed, brush my teeth, and get dressed into a pair of jeans that are ripped from the knees and a plain purple sweater that is up to my thighs. I brush my hair and put on light make-up.
I walk out of my room, down the hall, and to the dining room to see my mom, Ryan, Andrew, and a man who looks like he's in his late forties, and a teen boy sitting at the dining table.
"Good morning," Andrew stands up.
"Good morning," I say as I wave my hand around to him and everyone else.
"This is my dad," Andrew says pointing to the man.
His dad stands up and reaches his hand out, "Hello, Emma, it's so nice to finally meet you."
I shake his hand, "So nice to meet you too."
"This is my brother," Andrew says as the teenage boy stands up and shakes my hand.
"Hey Emma, I'm Shawn," The boy reaches his hand out as well.
"Nice to meet you, Shawn," I say as I shake his hand. They sit down, Andrew and his family on one side of the table and Ryan and my mom on the other side, so I sit next to Ryan and across from me is Andrew. He's smirking at me as Andrew's dad talks to my mom. I smile at him as he eyes me. Ryan looks at Andrew and me so we stop doing whatever we are doing.
"Shawn, how old are you?" Ryan asks Shawn.
"I'm 17-years old," he answers.
"Cool." Ryan awkwardly says.
"So Shawn, your brother Andrew sent me the video of him surprising you. How did you feel?" I ask him as Andrew giggles.
"I was actually shaking, that's how surprised I was," Shawn explains.
"Bring it in little bro," Andrew says as he grabs Shawn from by his head and locks him between his arm as he gives him a noogie. Shawn's hair gets messy as we all laugh.
After breakfast, I go to my room and Andrew follows me.
He hugs me from the back and kisses me on my blushing cheek, "So how do you like my family?"
"I love them," I say.
"Okay, now that we got that over with, wear your jacket, I'm taking you out," Andrew says as I turn around and put my hands on the back of his neck.
"Where are you taking me?"
"On a mission... where do you think I'm taking you?" He jokes... "On a date."
"Fine," I say as I let go of him and start to make my way out the door but he pulls me by my wrist, the wrist that hurt because of Sammy. He pulls me closer to him, our eyes meet and I could see my reflecting in his shiny eyes. I step back to reality. "Ow," I mumble.
"Did I hurt you?" Andrew says letting go of my wrist.
"No, not you," I say as I pulled my purple sleeve to show him. "Sammy did."
"Sammy did this to you?!" Andrew says as he holds my hand looking at my bruised wrist.
I nod.
"I'm going to kill him!" He says as he drops my hand and starts walking but I hold him back by his arm.
"Please don't, it happened, the past is the past now," I say.
"If we let this slide then he will try to do it again," Andrew says.
