Angles pov
I woke up to someone saying my name. I opened my eyes and saw a lady standing in front of me. She looked about 19 or 20 years old.
"Good morning angel, my name is Kayla and I will be taking care of you" the nurse said
I smiled and nodded.
She was giving me my pain killers and checking on the wound where Kevin had shot me.
Officer Douglas had walked in.
She smiled. "Good morning Angel"
"Good morning" I replied
"Ok so I have good news and I have bad news, which one do you want to hear first?"
"Bad news" I said
"The bad news is that we don't have enough evidence that those boys held you captive even though I'm positive that they did but it's up to the judge not me, so until further notice the boys will remain with their freedom. But the good news is we got in touch with your mom and she's on her way to come see you" he said
"What? How do you not have enough evidence? I literally told you guys that they kidnapped me! I told you guys what they did to me and jade!" I yelled
"Angel I need you to calm down. We will catch them I promise. You're story is really believable but it's your word against theirs" he said
"Ugh I can't believe this"
"I know angel but until the trials I need you to not worry about that and to focus on your well being and getting better, and besides your mom is almost here so just be happy about that"
As he was talking my mom came barging through the door.
"Angel!" She cried and she embraced me into a hug. She had tears sliding down her face.
"Angel, baby I missed you soo much"
Tears started streaming down my face. "I miss you too momma" I cried
"Shhh don't cry, mommy's here baby"
Officer Douglas stood up. "I'll give you guys some time alone" he said before walking out shutting the door behind him
My mom let go and she stared at me. "Look at you, you've gotten skinnier and you're all bruised up"
She caressed my cheek. I grabbed her hand.
"I'm ok mom, just worry about what we have right now and that I'm finally safe and I'm not gonna leave you again mommy. I'm staying right here" I said
And with that we hugged again and I finally actually feel safe with my mom right beside me, making everything better.
