It was raining. Not heavily, but moderately. I touched my hand to the window and could almost feel the water slipping down my fingertips. Tonight...I would go outside.
With a sigh, I spun around, but quickly screamed when I found that Julian was right beside me. He laughed while I held my thundering heart and glared.
"Get out of my room," I hissed, pointing straight at the exit.
Julian just kept laughing, bent over and holding his knees. If he wasn't going to move, then I would make him. With a smirk, I grabbed the back of his shirt and began dragging him towards the door. Realizing that I wasn't playing, he twisted his body and evaded my grasp.
"Julian, I'm not playing. Get out."
He mocked my stance.
"No."
Shrugging, I opened my mouth to yell for Jackson, but he wrapped his hand around my mouth, pulling my back to his chest. I gripped his hand, actually pissed now, and ripped it from my face. "What is your problem?"
"Nothing, just bored," he whispered in my ear before throwing me onto my bed. I bounced once. Twice. Then rolled onto my back, ready to cuss him out, but before I could he was on top of me. I shoved at his chest, but he grabbed my wrist and pinned them to the sheet.
"Play with me, June." He began to lean down. "June, play with me."
"No...no...Julian stop," he ignore me, "GET OFF OF ME!"
I woke up with a scream, shoving the body on top of me off. I didn't want to play. I didn't want to play.
"June...honey, it's okay. It's just me. You're okay," a voice I recognized whispered.
Slowly, cautiously, I stopped flailing my arms and lookes into the darkness at Kelen. My mind sputtered for a second, before it caught up and I launched myself at him.
"Kelen," I whispered, nuzzling his warm neck. Tears pricked at my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. "When did you get here?"
He pulled out my hair tie gently, then ran his fingers through my hair. They all knew this calmed me. "Maybe three hours ago. You were hugging the pillow and I couldn't help myself. I hope you don't mind. Cas told me you wanted to be alone."
I shook my head, still not having the strength to pull away. "I was worried about you guys. It's been a week. I thought you guys weren't coming back," I said, and despite myself, I started to cry. The week had been so stressful on me. Not knowing where they were. Not knowing if they were alive. Kelen began to rock me back and forth, pulling me into his lap. I wrapped my legs around his waist and arms around his neck, never wanting to let go.
"June I am so, so sorry. We...we found something. And it wasn't pretty---"
"Found what? A dead body? Kelen please tell me it wasn't---"
"No," he laughted softly, "it wasn't a dead body or nothing you're probably thinking. It...I'll tell you soon, but not now. Right now, I just want to hold you. It's been rough on us too, baby."
I nodded, smuggling further into him. He was so warm and I felt so safe.
"If you want to talk about it, I would like to know what you were having a nightmare about."
