I sent my Mom my tenth text of the morning, proving to her I was still alive as I chewed slowly on my toast.
Don't text back. Don't text back.
My phone dinged with another alert.
I ground my teeth as I quickly punched in her number and put the phone on speaker as I glared at the glass table I was sitting at.
She answered before the first ring.
"Zola, are you alright?" she asked, as if she was talking to a wild animal she knew she needed to calm down.
I sucked my teeth, trying to calm down, "I'm fine, Mom. I'm alive and I am breathing. I am also here with Raina, Aaron, and Silos at the breakfast table, so say hello" I hissed.
I looked up at Aaron's shocked face as he sat in front of his plate of eggs, bacon, and fruit. Raina sat beside him in a nightgown that barely covered her boobs, only drinking a pressed juice, and Silos sat at the table, a newspaper in front of him as he inhaled his eggs.
"Hello" Raina and Aaron echoed simultaneously, while Silos mumbled behind his paper.
"Now, Mother, I am here in this sky rise penthouse since you refuse to let me go home without threatening to call the police. I say this was absolute love but if you text me one more time I will block you" I snap, my voice rising with each stroke of anger.
"Love you too" she deadpanned before hanging up on me.
I glared back at the piece of toast I was eating that Silos' maid had prepared for me.
We were in his penthouse, because apparently it wasn't registered under his name, unlike his six other properties, or any of the ones that Aaron owned.
Aaron was here because Raina refused to stop crying and screaming of death if he didn't stay here with us.
I was here because between my Mother and my Grandmother and surprisingly even Silos, I needed to hide out.
Silos threatened to buy my entire building and then evict me if I didn't move in.
I almost couldn't even fully enjoy that the gala was tonight and my sweet, sweet revenge was about to be put on blast.
Everything had fallen perfectly into place.
It was just a matter of exposing it.
My phone rang again, forcing me to look down at the number.
Darla.
I answered, snatching a piece of bacon off of Silos' plate.
He peeked over his newspaper slightly to meet my hell's fire eyes, before he went back behind it without a word.
"Darla" I mumbled placing her on speaker, wishing I was anywhere besides here.
Raina just kept shooting Aaron kicked puppy looks.
He had agreed to move in but he hadn't said a word to Raina since the argument in the car ride after the fiasco.
Yes, they wouldn't let me take my car either, so we all road together.
It was so exciting to get to hear my cousin and her limbo husband fight about whether or not he was her first.
And then they got into semantics, which began a painstakingly detailed description of what Aaron was Raina's first as.
I got to sit beside Silos fucking Kross as Aaron asked my cousin if he had been the first man who's dick she had inside of her.
Yes, yes, all fun things.
