Silos and I stayed inside my hotel room for three whole days.
It could have been longer, should have been, but Valerie had drawn the short stick and been forced to bang on the door until I opened it demanding that we needed to come out.
But I could have lived in that hotel room with only Silos for ever.
Well, only Silos and room service, of course.
Those days were we just laid in bed had been the best. He'd told me stories of him growing up in Mykonos where his Father was originally from with his mother and how eventually she had moved the two of them to the states were she had better chance at more work and less chance of anyone finding out that she'd given birth.
He talked about his life and how close him and his mom had been and then as he had aged he began asking her questions about his Father, one's she didn't want to answer before eventually telling him the whole story when he was fifteen.
He claimed he didn't know who he was more angry with, his mother for hiding him or his father for never trying to find him.
That wedge had left an opening for a new man to emerge in their lives and Silos didn't talk much about his step father but there was a darkness that settled in his eye whenever he thought of him. He never told me exactly what he'd done, only saying that he wasn't a good man and him and his mother's relationship had paid dearly for that.
Which is why he was fighting through college, something he was surprised he liked so much and had been so good at. Then he'd met his Father and thought he had a chance at something different and new, only to find out that he hadn't been as great as he wanted him to be.
Which led to him swindling the company from him.
Something he thought very highly of himself for and I couldn't blame him. He was kind of an evil genius, with a nice ass.
I knew there were more details he needed to give me but we had time for that, time to fill in the holes and build trust with one another and I was excited for the opportunity.
He'd also told me about Darla's visit to him, Aaron, and Raina.
I loved my hard headed friend and apparently so did Silos, he said it was the ass kicking he needed.
He hadn't given me specifics but he'd said that a pretty bad fight had broken out between the three of them. He seemed sure that he and Aaron would eventually patch things up and I noticed how he specifically refused to even speak about Raina.
And I wanted to ask.
I really did.
But he was distracting and eventually he'd have to tell me.
So I let it go for now.
After Val had demanded we leave our rooms our entire group had then separated. The men going on their own adventure while the women did the same.
I had pouted watching a smirking Silos slink away with a winking Kal, a smiling Preston, a love-struck looking Justin, and a laughing David.
All yesterday we'd been separated, us women going off into the city shopping and eating and relaxing. It had been nice even though I was dying missing Silos. But it was good to sit and laugh with my group of friends.
To watch Valerie be so care-free.
We'd all gotten incredibly closer as the day progressed. Sky becoming a little less shy, Darla and Dorthy getting into loads of trouble with our bottomless mimosa brunch.
