In the distant land of the black forest, Mataka journeys through the many trees surrounding her. As she walks through the cold dark area, a blanket of fog begins to surround her.

"Whoever you are, reveal yourself. In my tribe, we stand face to face with our advasary. I have no patience for cowards." Mataka snarls, with her Tomahawk in her left hand.

A monsterously tall figure appears from the cloud of smoke, boasting dark blue skin and razor sharp spikes from it's elbows. The figure looks into the eyes of Mataka, it's eyes glowing a blood red.

"Ah... you are from the Ka'nakhu tribe. Your soul is ripe for eating!" The monstrous figure hisses.

"And just whom may you be?" Mataka asks.

"I am, Glytnnu. The guardian of this forest. If you wish to progress beyond this point, you must first get past me. But I warn you, you will not survive this, for I will devour your soul!!!" Glytnnu leaps into the air and he tries to crush Mataka, but he misses as she rolls out of the way.

Mataka throws her Tomahawk into the left eye of the monster, causing it to spill out large pints of blood. As Glytnnu roars in agony, Mataka charges at him with her knife. Glytnnu however, regains his wits and he swats her into a nearby tree.

Mataka struggles to get to her feet, but she is grabbed by the beast. As he prepares to devour her, Mataka buries her Tomahawk into Glytnnu's forehead, making him cry out in pain.

The pain forces him to let go of her, and she lands on the ground feet first. Mataka takes out another knife and she charges at the horrid beast. Glytnnu, in one quick motion, swallows Mataka whole.

As Glytnnu laughs as he thinks he has won, he begins to feel a sharp pain in his stomach. The pain quickly intensifies, getting sharper and sharper. Glytnnu shrieks in primal agony as his skin begins to rip and tear. Mataka bursts through the stomach of Glytnnu, disembowling him. All of the internal organs come pouring out of the inside of the stomach as the beast falls down to the ground, slowly succumbing to death.

Mataka walks towards Glytnnu as he takes his breath becomes labored. She buries her Tomahawk into his head, ending his suffering. Moments later, an ethereal spirit appears in front of Mataka, glowing bright blue.

"You have ended my long torment, I have waited for someone to end my suffering as a monster. I can now finally rest in peace. I see that you carry great sorrow brave warrior, you seek to unburden yourself of a tragedy that has most reccently fallen upon you." Mataka looks at her left hip and she sees the small bag. A look of lament etches on her face, as she stares at the tightly knotted bag.

"You have lost someone you have loved so dearly, and you carry the ashes of that loved one inside that small sack, but you also carry great darkness inside you." The spirit of Glytnnu says to her.

"You have passed the first of five perils, the rest of the perils will challenge you reslove and your soul, as I have. Your path to salvation will not be pleasant, you will suffer greatly, for only the strong deserve redemption." The spirit of Glytnnu ascends towards the sky, his soul being absovled of his torment.

As Mataka looks on, she looks towards the still fresh deceased body of Glytnnu. She looks at his broken body and she inspects the large spikes in his elbows. Using her brute strength, she rips the spike from his left elbow. She then does the same to his right elbow.

As she knocks her Tomahawk against the large spikes, she discovers that they are ten times stronger than regular steel. Going back over to the body, she rips out a large tooth from Glytnnu's mouth.

She carefully carves out the shape of a blade, filling out the edges to make it sharp. Mataka then finds two tree branches and she sticks them at the bottom base of the blade.

"Ka' Ni' Shrak' Nar' Ru' Magua' Tok' Grinar'!" Mataka chants, placing a blessing over the blades. The branches blend with the spiked blades, sticking to them like a spider would a wall. Mataka picks up the blades and she feels their light weight.

"Good, this will help me on my quest." She says while placing them over her back. Not wasting a moment, she heads off west to continue her quest for redemption, no matter what horrors lie ahead.
