"It's only been a couple days since he died, but...it still feels like it just happened", I told Dr. Finkle. She looked at me with sympathy, "How close were you with Ralph?", she asked me. I sighed, "Ralph and I had a... complicated history, but we were really becoming good friends. It took a while to see past the guy he was before and see the hero that he had become", I said. She looked at me, "You consider him a hero?", she asked. I nodded, "Yeah. Yeah I do", I confirmed, smiling as I thought of the good times that we've had with Ralph these last few months.
Dr. Finkle looked at Barry, "What about you, Barry? How are you feeling?", she asked, both of us noticing that he'd been very silent during the session. He shook his head, "I'm fine. I mean, you know, I'm working through it", he said very casually but I could feel that he was still hurting on the inside.
"So you weren't as close to him as Delaney was?", she asked him. He shrugged, "No, I mean, we were about the same, I'd say", he said. I nodded, "They used to work together", I told her making her eyes widen a little. "Oh? And you're fine already? With his death?", she asked him, knowing that he wasn't sharing his full feelings. He shrugged, "I've dealt with a lot of death in my life", he said. She nodded, "Yes you have. Your mother, father, Eddie, Ronnie, Leonard... Has Ralph's death had any impact on you at all?", she asked.
He took a breath, thinking of what to say, "I think I just know how to deal with death now, so it doesn't affect me as much as I once did", he said, but I knew that he was just pushing his feelings down. When I got my scream back, I also got my ability to sense people's emotions back. I could feel that Barry was broken but he just didn't want to show it. I wanted to say something but Dr. Finkle's timer went off, letting us know that out time was up. Barry sighed, "I guess we'll pick this up later", he said and stood up, reaching down to help me stand up as well.
I was still healing from my fight with Marlize so I wasn't at full fighting strength yet. I looked over at her, "Same time next week?", I confirmed. She nodded as Barry and I slipped out jackets back on, "Or sooner if you need it. Barry...", she called before we walked out, "Grief is a complex emotion that, as you know, deals on its own terms. There is no practice makes perfect", she reminded him and he gave her a small nod as we walked out of her office.

I walked into the Medbay to see Caitlyn at the computer, rewatching the security footage from when DeVoe attacked, "Anything new?", I asked her. She shook her head and paused the footage, "No sign of DeVoe", she said, not realizing what I meant. I stood next to her, "I meant with you, Cait", I said as I felt her grow sadder. she sighed, "No. No cold signatures anywhere in the city. Killer Frost is nowhere to be found", she said.
I shook my head, "That doesn't make any sense. DeVoe created every bus meta for a reason. He had no interest in Barry's powers or Cisco's or and of the metas in Iron Heights, so I don't know why he would suddenly want yours", I said. She shrugged, "We all saw what happened. When DeVoe touched me, my powers disappeared. Had to be him", she reasoned. I was about to say something else but an alarm went off in the cortex. We ran out there to see Barry already at the computers, "DeVoe?", I asked him.
