Everything was going swimmingly.

The spare I had between lectures was with Dante or Penny. I got to know Dante better, at least the basics of what he likes and what he disliked. (He was such a weeb, but I admired his passion) As for Penny, I was just happy to hear her talking - even if it was about her boyfriend or the things they do.

These days, I think everything was going too smoothly.

And I was right.

The weekend rolled through and I met up with Dante at his house. We got picked up by one of his friends (It was Issac) and we got to Hazel's place. She's not a bad person, I just think she doesn't like me at all.

But the worse part was, I didn't know Caitlyn was there. I don't think Dante knew either since he was just as shocked as I was. She waved at me and Dante before greeting us.

"Did you expect her to be here?" I whispered to Dante, trying to be discreet as possible.

"Hell no," He replied, smiling at Caitlyn. "But I'm not surprised. Caitlyn is a goddess when it comes to League."

"Hey guys," She hugged us both. Ew. "I didn't know you joined the Esports Society Avalon?"

"That's because I didn't," I replied, trying to be as calm as possible. "Dante invited me."

"I see," Caitlyn smiled once more before taking a step back. "Hazel invited me after we met each other in Solo Queue. Small world?"

"Yeah, small world..." Dante chuckled nervously before taking my wrist and dragging me to the side. "Ava, could you cockblock tonight?"

"Uhh... Yeah, sure?" I mean, that was job anyways, so I guess I wouldn't mind.

So when the nerds started to nerd out (Again, all I could hear was blah blah blah Cloud9 is the best NA team blah blah blah unfair how Broxah(?) hasn't come in yet for TL blah blah blah Akali is broken) I just looked at Dante. He was a complete nerd and idiot, but he was a nice and passionate one, so I guess it wasn't that bad. I remained silent and just supported the team Dante would support.

Speaking of which, I sat in between Caitlyn and Dante. I mean, I don't like the girl, but if Dante doesn't want to sit next to her, then I had no problem with it. The only thing which made me nervous was sitting next to Dante. I didn't know if wrapping my arms around his and resting my head on his shoulder would make him nervous or weirded out. Ugh...

I did it anyway, to which he rested his head on mine. Phew. He actually liked it. Did you get my hint, Dante? Did you? I hope you did.

So what I could tell you is that Cloud9 won their game and half the group cheered the other half booed. Dante liked that team, so I guess they weren't made. Licorice. God what weird names. Nisqy? Zven? Blaber? Why was the Gamertag Vulcan sound better than the entire team?

Oh well.

I joined Dante to get some more snacks with Hazel, though Dante left with Issac to get more snacks when we found out there wasn't any left.

"So, you're Dante's girlfriend?" Hazel asked me, whilst we were in the kitchen.

"W-what? where did you get that idea from ?" I asked, almost choking.

"I heard from Caitlyn you two kissed on New Year's Eve," She replied casually, getting a cup of water. "So... I thought you two were a thing?"

"Ah... no, it's... complicated to say the least," I chuckled, scratching the back of my head. "He kissed me. I didn't know about it until it happened."

"Well... that means he's still single right?" She asked, curiously.

"Well, yeah I guess he is?" I raised an eyebrow. "Why are you interested?"

"Why do you feel attacked?" Hazel giggled and rolled her eyes. "Dante can make his own decisions on who he wants to date or not. I don't care what happened between you two."

"What? Are you interested in Dante?" I asked, sitting down to hear her bullshit.

"Well... I guess you could say that?" She smiled innocently, though personally I didn't like it. "He's just... I don't know how to put it. I like him. We both have the same interests. Anime, Esports, Cloud9, our food tastes, etc. He and I also play the guitar and we just have a lot in common. I kind of wanna see where it goes?"

"Oh, I see you two are in the same boat as I am," Caitlyn walked in. "Except the both of you didn't betray him. I really want a restart with him. But his attention is all on Avalon Lancaster."

"I don't know why," Hazel shrugged and sat down as well. "You don't exactly match with what he likes and what he does."

"Yeah, but people can make compromises," I argued. Geez, it's like I'm trapped in a cage with a leopard and a lion. "People don't exactly date people with their entire preference."

"Yeah, but it would be better to find someone who has almost the same interests," God, she doesn't stop talking. "Be honest with me Avalon. How much do you and Dante have in common?"

"Does it matter? If you have too many common interests then there's nothing new with your relationship," I tried arguing, but someone having similar tastes would actually be convenient. "There's no excitement, no thrilling of the unknown. Besides, Dante wants to try want I like and I'm doing what he likes. So far, it's going well."

"She's not wrong," Caitlyn shrugged and sighed, before shaking her head. "But we need to stop arguing. At the end of the day, it's Dante's decision on who's he wants to date."

"You're being awfully mature about these things," I replied, somewhat suspicious of her motives.

"I've grown up, that's all," She shrugged once more and got a cup of water too. "You know what they say. If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was meant to be. So, if Dante ends up in my arms, then I guess it was fate."

"Whatever you say, Caitlyn," Hazel looked irritated with both of us. "Man, both of you trying to get with Dante. The only time I actually like a guy... this happens."

"Hey, we're back," Dante and Issac walked in with carrier bags filled with sweets and snacks. "We'll leave some here, so grab what you want and let's go."

Three girls liking one guy.

What.

The.

Fuck.

I can understand why.

But why is it like this?
