Jake woke up at exactly 7:30 in the morning to prepare for work. After all his morning rituals are done in under 30 minutes, he boarded his Ford Ranger and set off to the broadcasting station where his meeting will be held.
Today is their final meeting with the main directors for the film that they will produce for next season. He had been handling this kind of set-up quite well and has established a lot of connections with the entertainment world where he could introduce his artists to.
Mark, his best friend in college as well as his co-manager in the academy and agency, called this morning to report how their artists and trainees are doing.
Upon arrival, Jake was welcomed by all the other producers and staff who will be handling the production, most of them are familiar and close to him.
"Wang PD! Glad to see you again! Thanks for not backing out on me this time." Jin Park, the main director of the film, welcomed him with open arms.
"Jin PD, please forget about that time in the past. I'm still guilty about it so I've already made a promise to always accept every offer you make in my team." Jake whispered and Jin laughed it off.
They've been working on some films already as well as some dramas in the past so they actually knew about each other's personality quite well.
"I think everyone's here, so shall we start?" Jin announced after scanning the whole place filled with directors and main staff as well as the managers of the artists who will be starring in the film.
For the whole duration of seven hours, they were able to talk about how everything in the set shall go and how everyone shall move for a smooth and creative working environment, each one rehearsing the scenes in their head.
"One thing more, before we end with this meeting." Jin's excited voice caught everyone's attention.
"We have in our team someone who has worked on international films, and each film has won every awards where it was nominated." With his announcement, everyone in the room looked at each other, having no clue who Jin was talking about.
Jake gave him a raised eyebrow.
"She's not here at the moment though she already arrived yesterday. I'll be meeting her probably later. Anyway, she will be serving as my assistant director, as it is truly her job. She will be our guide as we work on this film. So I hope you also welcome her well." Jin said and an applause filled the room.
Jake wasn't able to talk to Jin when the meeting ended as his secretary called to inform something about an artist's condition. He was still on the phone as he exited the room going to the parking lot. While at the lobby, he was smiling at the people he meets and who greets him as they all know him.
After greeting another employee, his eyes darted on the elevator, he stopped talking. His feet froze as though he lost his ability to control his feet to walk. He just stared at the closing elevator's door.
"Sir? Are you still with me?" The voice from the other line snapped him back to reality. Soon as everything sinked in, he immediately rushed to the elevator but of course, he was too late. He looked at which floor it was heading to so he ran towards the emergency stairs.
Soon as he reached the 8th floor, no one was at the hallway. He tried to search the place but he couldn't find her.
Yes. Her. The girl he never forgot even after everything that happened 10 years ago.
"Is it really you?" He thought to himself.
