Her alarm rang and Snow was off to the restroom to prepare for work. She didn't really want to take the offer but she at least needed money to pay for her bills. Sure it was her only goal to gain back her memories from ten years ago but she needs to do some living, too.
"Good morning!" Rina, her roommate, greeted as Snow went out from the bathroom.
"Good morning! How are you feeling now, unnie?" Snow's roommate had been sick for the whole week, and out of compassion she took care of her.
"I'm totally well now. Thanks for taking care of me." She said happily as she invited her to the table to have some breakfast.
"Anyway, when you mentioned that you were originally from here and yet you can't remember a lot since an accident ten years ago, I tried to ask my friends who were from this place..." Rina started and Snow was all ears. For the whole week that they've been together, they both learned to open up to each other. They kind of became really close in the span of one week.
"So were there any accidents around here ten years ago?" Snow hoped to hear good news so she could narrow down the possibilities of what really happened in the past.
Rina's reaction changed from lively to bitter.
"There wasn't." She shook her head and Snow felt a little bit of disappointment with the news.
"Hey! Don't be discouraged just yet. I'll help you gain back your memories, okay?" Rina assured and Snow nodded, still thankful that she has someone who can help her deal with it, even though she really don't know where to start.
After breakfast, Snow went ahead to work as Rina would be working the night shift in a call center nearby.
Soon as Snow arrived at the set, someone really familiar approached her.
"There you are, White!" He warmly greeted and she smiled at him.
"Stop calling me that, Park-PD. I won't use that name here!" She shushed him with a smile and the latter only chuckled.
"By the way, let me introduce you to all the staff here. They're really excited to see you." He smiled sheepishly.
"What story did you create about me this time?" She eyed him but he just pulled her towards the crowd.
"The truest of all the stories." He whispered and she just slapped his arm lightly.
The introductions followed and everyone welcomed her well and respectfully. She didn't really like the attention because she believed she didn't have the skills to be recognized as such.
"Someone's still missing. I really like you to meet him because he is as competitive as you are. He's one of my lucky aces in my films." He told Snow as he scanned the set, everyone setting up everything.
"There he is!"
"Wang-PD!" He called out and the guy in blue suit, white shirt, and black pants who just arrived looked their way.
He slowly approached them and Snow noticed his eyes glued to her. She felt kind of awkward so she scanned how she looked and thought that it was okay. What is up with him? She thought.
"Wang-PD, I'd like you to meet the one I told you about last week. She is an assistant director who has worked alongside other directors in some American rom-com films. And I happened to know her when I went to America for some films." Jin informed and Snow politely bowed.
"And here is the music director behind the successful films I directed, so far." Jin said as he looked at Snow and Jake, simultaneously.
"Snow Kim," she said and offered for a handshake. He looked at her and she swore, his eyes were speaking to her, only she couldn't understand what they were saying...or maybe she is just over analyzing the way he looked at her.
"Jake Wang, it's nice to finally meet you." Even his voice, she thought, was kind of giving her a different feeling.
"Okay! Introductions are done. Let's get to work, team!" Jin announced and after five minutes, everyone's at their posts already.
Jake couldn't stop looking at her everytime he gets a chance. He still couldn't believe that the girl he had been hoping to meet since ten years ago is here now. And yet the pain he had been pushing since they were introduced to each other this morning bothered him.
How come she didn't recognize him? Or was she just pretending to not have recognized him? Or something really happened to her ten years ago?
He can't get those questions out of his mind so he thought of trying to strike a conversation with her after work. He might find out something if he does that.
But time didn't favor him. Soon as the filming for that day ended, she was out of sighy. Jin said she had some business to take care of and went ahead.
Meanwhile, Snow received a call from someone so she was now on her way to the airport. While on her way, she thought of her meeting with Jake Wang today. The way he looked at her, the way he smiled at everyone on the set, the softness of his hand, and his voice...there was something in them that she couldn't fathom.
