Chapter 6: The New Guy

It's Day 3!!! Yes po, the third and final day ng aming Intramurals!!

At ngayon ay busying busy ako. Alam niyo bakit? Kasi may gaganapin lang naman na concert mamaya dito sa school grounds. Yes, you heard it right. Concert!!!

Ang school band ang magpe-perform mamaya kasama ang iba pang banda that we hired para sa 3-hour concert mamaya.

So andito ako ngayon sa school grounds tumutulong sa pagse-set up ng stage sa lights and sound. Hindi naman talaga ako yung nagse-set up at nagbubuhat ng mga lights and speakers hehehehe yung mga magagaan lang ng konti hehehehe. Actually I'm here to direct kung saan dapat ilalagay ang mga lights and sound and such. At kasama ko ngayon ang buong committee ng ways & means para tumulong sa akin.

Bali anim (6) kaming members ng committee which is composed of the class representatives ng kani-kanilang sections. The class reps of the 3rd years are my colleagues at ako ang kanilang Head bilang isa sa mga Council Officers. Nasabi ko na to last time that the Vice President holds the chair sa Committee on Ways & Means but since vacant yung position na iyon, which is si Kath dati, eh ako muna ang humahawak nito.

Para lang sa information niyong lahat eh may limang committees ang hino-hold ng Student Council. Ang una ay ang Ways & Means which is held by the Vice President. 

Nga pala, ang sabi ni Grey eh next na lang daw kami magmi-meeting kung sino ang uupo bilang Vice President sa Council kasi nga paparating na ang Intrams and we don't have that much time to decide sino ang uupo. And according sa Constitution and By-laws ng Council, if one office is vacant, the student body can't hold re-election during the school year, instead it will be given to the other members of the Council and the Council alone which will be decided by the Council unanimously. Nakakatawa lang kasi paano kung ang mga uupo bilang Council is hindi magkakasundo aba'y mahihirapan sila sa pagpili kasi kailangan unanimous vote ang dapat. Mabuti at magbabarkada lang kaming nasa Council kaya di yan mahirap na decision. 

Pero eto pa ang mas malala. Ang nakasaad sa CBL is kapag the office of the secretary is vacant, there shall be re-election to be made due to the fact that anybody in the Council can't act as both the Secretary and as one of the officers. If two or more offices are vacant, re-election shall be made and the student body shall decide whether to fill the remaining offices or to elect a new set of Council to continue the remaining terms of the old Council. During the re-election period, except in the re-election in the office of the Secretary, the Commission on Election shall stand as the temporary Council of the student body. O diba ang bongga ng aming CBL hahahaha!!

Pangalawa is the Finance & Budget held by the Treasurer and is composed of all of the class treasurers dito sa school, as in lahat sila. Alam niyo ba na 20 ang lahat ng sections dito sa amin which is 5 per year level. Ganun sila karami sa committee na yun. Maliit lang naman ang school namin kaya ganun. They conduct monthly meetings talaga and they will make a budget plan only once in a school year. They also make financial statements quarterly and issues liquidation report sa lahat ng activities ng student body.

Thirdly is the Commission on Audit held by the Council Auditor and is composed by all the class auditors. Sila ang nag-a-audit ng mga financial statements na nire-release ng Council. Pati ang mga reports na ini-issue ng lahat ng class treasurers is sila din ang nag-a-audit. Sila ang pinakamahigpit sa lahat ng mga committees ng Council, at halos lahat sa kanila ay strikto, pati si Noel!

Next is the Public Relations and the Student Discipline which is composed of all the class PIOs for the Public Relations and the class reps of the 4th years for the Student Discipline. Bali dalawang committee sila pero they are held by only one person and that is June our Information Officer. Kaya bilib na bilib ako sa baklang iyon kasi grabe kaya niyang i-handle ang dalawang committee na iyon! Originally is si Grey ang hahawak ng Student Discipline pero dahil ayon kay June eh hindi naman mabigat ang trabaho ng Public Relations kasi magdi-disseminate ka lang naman daw ng infos sa mga class PIOs kaya he requested na siya na ang hahawak ng Student Discipline, and he didn't fail sa Council President. He managed well the two committees kaya wow na wow ako sa kaniya. The Student Discipline also trains the senior students para maging student arms na kaagapay ng Council sa pagpapatupad ng kaayusan sa buong school. The school security is different matter kaya hindi nila yan hinahawakan kundi ang school's Security Office. Well, they can work hand in hand naman, like ngayon sa kasagsagan ng Intrams namin.
