Three week later

Amelia's POV

"Move it over, to the left slightly," he said and I shifted the painting before looking back at him.

"Now come down before you fall," he said frowning holding out his hand for me I took it stepping down. He had left to dispose of the boxes and came back to find me fixing the painting in the small hallway facing the front door.

"Ready to finish unpacking the clothes?" He asked leading me deeper into our fully furnished apartment.

"I want to eat first," I said and he kissed my forehead as we moved to the kitchen.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked as I moved sitting on the counter facing him.

"A sandwich," I said and he moved to the fridge opening it, we hadn't gone grocery shopping as yet but we had brought the food from my old apartment here.

"We have ham, cheese, egg and sausage," he listed his head buried in the fridge.

"Ham and cheese," I replied as my phone began ringing, I got off the counter walking to the livingroom picking it up.

"Mommy," I spoke into speaker as I returned to the kitchen.

"Hey baby, are you coming to your father's birthday party?" She said and I groaned.

"I forgot shit," I replied feeling horrible, how do you forget-

"It's okay baby, you've been busy just remember it starts at five and bring Xavier,"

"Mommy he's probably going to be busy,"

"Ask at least, I love you baby, "

"I love you too mommy," I said and I heard Xavier chuckling as I ended the call sitting on the counter once more.

"What's so funny?"

"Mommy?" He asked turning to me for a split second.

"I'm not going to call her Crystal," I said rolling my eyes playfully and he chuckled turning to face me fully a plate in his hand with our sandwiches.

"You're so cute," he mumbled placing the plate down pecking my lips.

"She is my mommy," I said justifying my actions and he smiled bitting my lip slightly.

"And what am I?"

"Horny and in my space," I whispered pecking his lips before giving my full attention to my sandwich.

"I remember being in your space last night and you didn't seem to have a problem," he replied chuckling his hands running up my thighs as I bit into my sandwich.

"Aren't you hungry?" I asked once I finished chewing.

"Yeah," he whispered but I could tell our ideas of food weren't the same. I laughed looking at his amused expression.

"Xavier," I called out and he smiled kissing my cheek.

"Request away," he whispered reaching for his sandwich and I laughed.

"Today is my father's birthday, they're keeping a-not so much a birthday party more like a get together, an-"

"Yes, I'll come," he replied softly cutting me off.

"What time?"

"Five," I replied and he leaned over checking the time on my phone.

"It's 3:20, we should start getting ready"

"It's a 25 minute drive,"

"And you need an hour to get ready,"

"Right here," I said and he turned parking the car.

"Hold on," he said removing his seatbelt getting out, he moved around pulling my door, I stepped out saying a small thank you as he closed the it. We began walking to the house when I realized something.

"I forgot my phone in the car," I said turning to go back.

"I'll get it," he said kissing my forehead walking away. I watched as he opened the car before I heard the front the opening I turned to face little Emerald who was running towards me, she giggled hugging my leg.

I laughed picking her up hugging her, her little hands trying their best to do the same.

"Xavier," she screamed and I let her down as she ran to him. I waited for Xavier who was walking towards with Emerald in his hands, talking and laughing. His hand snaked around my waist as we walked inside.

"Mommy," I greeted as she walked towards me, I heard Xavier chuckle and I smiled as I pulled my mother into a hug.

"Hey baby," she replied as Xavier let Emerald down. My mother immediately pulling him into a hug.

"Xavier, I'm  happy you could make it,"

"Nice to see you again Mrs Davidson, and it is really my pleasure to be here" he greeted back and she flashed him a motherly smile.

"Everyone is around back, Amelia come help me in the kitchen, Xavier you can go ahead we'll be there shortly," she said.

"Are you going to be okay?" I asked

"I'm going to be fine baby," he said kissing my forehead before walking off with Emerald. I watched him for a second before following my mother into the kitchen.

"Where is dad?" I asked as being greeted by the sight of my aunt Rose sitting in the kitchen.

"He is outside on the grill," she replied as I greeted my aunt and I realized this was all a trap.

"No questions," I said glancing at my mother as I walked over to the fridge pouring a glass of water.

"We just want to know how it's going,"

"Mommy aren't you too old, to be taking part in gossip, you both are"

"He is a catch," my aunt commented looking out the window at Xavier who was talking to some of my family members.

"The last thing you told me was that you guys were moving in, how is that going?" My mother asked grabbing some plates and utensils placing them on a tray.

"We're officially living together as of today, we just have a couple more clothes to put away," I said moving to help her

"Rose grab the tray," my mother said and my aunt moved for it but I stopped her picking it up.

"I got it,"

"Thank you baby," she replied and I smiled as we began walking out.

"Are you planning to have kids, get married, I know a friend that has a beach house th-"

"Aunty it hasn't been a year yet slow down," I said laughing as we stepped through the back door. I placed the tray on a table avoiding their questions before walking over to my dad. He opened his arms pulling me in a hug.

"Happy birthday,"

"Thank you baby," he replied kissing my cheek pulling away.

"I met Xavier," he said attending to the food on the grill.

"And?"

"He seems like a good man," he said and I smiled my eyes meeting the topic of our conversation, who was sitting on the grass with Emerald and my cousin.

"He is," I whispered and my father turned to me smiling.

"Why don't you go mingle sweetheart, it's not everyday the entire family is together,"

"Thank God for that," I said and he laughed as I walked off, moving over to Xavier.
