𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙭 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢
We walked along the prestigious streets of the pro-citizens.
We caught stares and insults being thrown at us.
A man even spits on us, calling us normies.
A police officer stared as we walked, I stared back.
" I told you it's a bad idea!" Jerome whispered.
" Relax, it's fine as long as we don't get arrested," I responded.
"Ah! It's to our left." I grabbed Jerome's hand and took us to the candy shop.
At the door, a woman sucked on a lollipop while staring at us. She blocked the door with her arm.
" What are you doing here?"
" We're just looking around," I replied.
She laughed. Her gold teeth gleaming.
" You're kidding, right? You can't even purchase anything from here."
" We just want to see." I smiled and the women let go of her arm and we both went inside.
" We should get out," Jerome said.
" Stop being so boring. Just tell me if you see anything you like." I whispered.
I saw a big bag of sour patch on my right. Jerome noticed.
" You can't even put that in your pocket." He said.
I leaned forward.
" Do you see something you like?" I whispered.
" I guess the big bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups."
" K. Take it and we'll run on 3"
" Wtf, we'll get glitched."
Glitched is when someone glitches you for breaking the law. That someone has a device that sends a signal to electrocute you, and then make you unconscious.
" Not if we run fast enough. If we run in random directions fast enough, they won't even be able to touch our icon. If we get far out of range, then we're free."
" Ok. But don't do this ever again."
I checked my timer
5:46. I had time.
" Ok." I smiled.
He put the peanut butter cups beside the sour patch and then I counted.
" 1,2."
I checked both directions, and then as a distraction, I picked up a bag of Hershey's and threw it near the cashier.
"3!"
We took our bags and I pushed the women in front of us.
We then ran in a zig-zag pattern to the forest preserve further ahead.
We made it.
We laughed.
" That was kinda fun." Jerome laughed.
" That was." I grinned.
There was a big pause.
Jerome then took my face and kissed me.
I felt stunned. I was into girls so I pushed him back.
Jerome got embarrassed.
" Oh, I-I'm sorry for that." He stuttered.
"Oh, no, it's totally fine. It's not that it's just I'm not into guys."
" You're gay?"
" No-no, ugh, it's hard to explain. I'm just not me right now. Actually, I'm not even this Alex."
" Oh, that's fine. Do you need someone to talk to? I'm here to listen." He coughed.
I slowly shook my face.
"It's not that. We should just walk home. I think our neighborhood is behind this forest according to my map."
He zoned out into his system and pressed his button. He came back.
" You're right."
He awkwardly walked together till we reached our apartment.
We walked in together and went into the elevator.
The awkward silence tortured my soul. I went into my mind and pressed my button, then I checked my timer.

I felt bad. I knew that when I had to kill my character Jerome would be impacted. But then I realized that this is just a game and these characters aren't real. But why did I feel so bad?
When we came out I immediately walked to my room. I heard a voice behind me.
" Bye Alex." Jerome waved.
I waved back. " Bye Jerome."
I looked back at my door and put my finger on the keypad. I opened the door and laid on my couch.
I pressed my button and telepathically turned my TV on. I suddenly coughed, then went on to change the channels until I got to the news.
" Strange cases of a new brain disease located in the UK. Symptoms of this novel disease are coughing, vomiting, seizures, and hallucinations. This disease can result in organ failure-"
I looked at my arm which I just coughed into.
I looked up in worry. I didn't have to worry, this is just a game. I don't need to worry. It won't affect me.
After some time, there was only 1 minute left to the timer. After I got out of my system by pressing my button, I heard an alert from my system.
" ALERT: Someone is at your door"
I opened the door.
0:40 seconds
It was Jerome. F*ck, I have to kill my character in front of him.
He held a small ziplock bag with tiny peanut butter cups.
" I just wanted to apologize again for the kiss earlier."
"Oh no it's fine." I smiled.
I looked at Jerome. "Could you get out? I apologize, but I'm kinda busy."
"Oh, of course. Take some of my peanut butter cups."
I took them from him.

"Well bye."
"See you later."
I waved, then closed the door.
I went to the kitchen and for my last seconds as living as Alex, I squished my boobs.
" Goodbye squishy balls."
I let go of them. It was time.
" MISSION IS ALMOST COMPLETE
NOW: PRESS THE OFF BUTTON ON YOUR CAMERA, TO UNLOCK GUN. THEN SHOOT"
I took my camera out and pressed the off button. It turned into a gun. I directed it toward my head.
I heard steps coming towards my room.
I put my fingers on the trigger. Jerome came in, sh*t, I forgot to lock the door.
There was no time, so I shot Alex, right in front of her best friend.
I was in a bar, and I finally got my first man.
" 2ND MISSION COMPLETE.
CHARACTER UNLOCKED: NOAH MARTIN"

My alarm rung. I had to go to work.
I switched off my game with my button and I was back in my room.
I ran to the bathroom and took a shower. I was really sweaty.
Then I changed my clothes and drove to work. At a stoplight, I checked my messages.
