The house that Angel was staying in was much nicer compared to the houses around it. The house had two stories, with two bedrooms, a living room, and an actual kitchen. The house was also furnished, having a couch, a chair, and an oven that could be light using a match.
Angel crashed on the couch and went back and forth between wanting to cry and wanting to sleep. On the one hand, crying would do wonders for her stress. On the other hand, today had been really exhausting.
"Hey Angel. We are gonna try to figure out what to do with the situation, do you want in?" Lance said.
"No, not really," Angel replied with her face in the cushion of the couch. She was already stressed out, and planning just made her more stressed. Lance gave her a look of understanding and sat next to her.
"We could just give her to Dawn?" Stephanie suggested cautiously, "I mean, I really don't want blood on my hands, but if we give her up then a lot more people are gonna die." That made Angel sit up.
"Wait what? That sounds like a horrible idea." Lance said. Lance began to get up and approach Stephanie, but Trisha gave him a look that suggested she had the situation under control.
"Giving Angel up is out of the question." Trisha said in a surprisingly commanding voice "Lance, who all knows who Angel is?"
"No one except me?"
"Okay, that's good. Okay, then I will probably leave, and you guys figure out what to do here. None of the townspeople know who Angel is, and she looks pretty generic, so hiding her won't be a huge hassle."
"Wait who do you mean by you guys? And why are you leaving?"
"What I mean is everyone except me. Everyone will be looking for me too, and I stand out a lot more than Angel, so hiding me will be much more difficult."
"Well, what if we used Angel as bait? We could ambush Dawn and his follower. The new mayor will probably be busy taking over, so it will just be that one other guy with him." Stephanie suggested
Angel was beginning to somehow not like Stephanie more than she already did, which was no easy feat.
"Hmmm, I still don't know how I feel about this."
"Yeah I am not giving up Angel as bait," Lance said "no offense to Angel, but she might be the most defenseless person on the planet."
"Thank you" Angel said sincerely.
"What about if you were the one to take Angel to Dawn?" Stephanie suggested to Lance. As the cogs began to whirl in her head, "then you could be near her at times. Not only that, but you said that you would like to fight whoever kidnapped Angel, and who do you think it was that kidnapped her."
"That is a good point," Lance replied, putting his hand to his chin, as if he was actually considering it.
Angel couldn't believe it. She had always known lance was headstrong and stupid, but she couldn't imagine him being this stupid. Good grief, she needed new friends.
"No. I am not giving Angel up." Trisha said "We can't afford to lose her."
"Oh come on. Think about it, we could kill Dawn. we could do what Nydia tried to spend her whole life doing, without all the killing. We could prevent someone like Nydia from ever rising again, and get rid of another psycho cult leader in the process."
Trisha looked Stephanie in the eyes. Stephanie seemed to shrink back little, as if she was going to drop the suggestion. Trisha stated authoritatively. "Nydia had to sacrifice my mom in order to gain a ton of power in hopes of even hurting Dawn, along with killing many others. What chance do we have?" Angel had found her new friend
"Well there are many things we have. For one thing, Tim mentioned in the car ride how many Beast Cult's members he had killed. I'm sure most of those guys had part of the Beast in them, meaning that Dawn is a lot weaker. Second, there are five of us, and one of Nydia. Besides, Dawn probably travels with an army usually, so that makes him a lot more dangerous than when he's alone. So what do you say, lets get rid of this sociopath and hope no one like him ever comes around again."
Trisha let out a sigh, and looked apologetically at Angel, "then let's do this." Angel took back her previous statement, Trisha was also not a friend.
