Sapphire was face to face with a horrible monster, and had no idea how to react. At first she stood there, frozen with fear, as Dawn sauntered towards her. Finally Sapphire gained the courage to throw one piece of the flaming building's at Dawn using her telekinesis.

Dawn effortlessly tossed the piece aside with his mind, swatting at it like it was a fly. There was no pause in his steps, and he continued to make his way towards Sapphire.

Sapphire vision was a little blurry though, and thought that maybe she tossed it incorrectly, so she tried another piece. It had the same result as the first piece. How could anyone have this much mental power?

Sapphire knew she could not be killed by Dawn, but she could not shake her flight response. Finally she succumbed to her instincts, and ran as fast as she could in the other direction, aiming for a long clearing perpendicular to the mountain of concrete separating her and Dawn. Unfortunately, the terrain was quite hard to navigate, and she tripped trying to avoid a fire that had unexpectedly popped up. Dawn finally gave chase, and began to sprint after her, stopping right before he reached Sapphire.

"I am not scared of you." Sapphire said defiantly, "I know that Michael made you promise to not kill or torture me or Stephanie."

Dawn laughed, "Do you honestly think that Michael will be able to protect you forever. The longer you wait to die, the more fun I can have if I do kill you." Dawn was now right on top of Sapphire, and reached down to grab her neck. Sapphire was smart though, and saw that Dawn was distracted, so she used this opportunity to send a piece of glass that was nearby straight into his head.

Dawn didn't even flinch at the shard impaling him. He stood there for maybe a millisecond, with his hand reached out, and a hole in his head. Until his brain started to reform, then his skull, then his eyes, and skin, all of which Sapphire saw regenerate one by one. After what felt like the snap of a finger, Dawn was fully healed from a head injury, and picked Sapphire up by the neck.

"Oh Sapphire, that won't work." Dawn made a tsk tsk noise and shook his head, "If I may give you a suggestion, try beheading me. I hear that works much better."

Sapphire could now feel the breath of Dawn. and as she looked into those dead eyes, she was reminded of the previous time they had met. When Dawn had destroyed everything she loved. Now she was all alone, and was at the mercy of a madman. Maybe he would have mercy on her and kill her quickly. She knew though that Dawn did not do that for people who got in his way. She had heard legends from her village about what he did to the people who remained to try to fight him. She never believed the legends, until now.

"Let me ask you this," Dawn said, smiling his signature toothy smile, "how exactly do you plan on getting out of this? Go on, let me hear it."

There was no way out of it, Sapphire realized. She was going to be at the mercy of someone who would somehow find a way to kill her, and when he did... she didn't dare think about it.

And then she finally realized a way out. She lifted the same shard of glass that she had used to try to kill Dawn, and sent it flying towards her heart, killing her instantly.

Meanwhile Dawn laughed, and drop her limp body to the ground. This whole day was turning out much better than expected.
