Jamal explained to the gang and I about Lil Ricky, now known as Father Goose.
Damn, he really let himself go. "He can hide his face, but he can't hide his busted ass flows." Jamal said.
Amen to that, brother. I covered my ears most of the time, for the simple fact that whatever the hell those lyrics were, they were giving me a migraine. No way that's Lil Ricky.
"Alright, you win." Jasmine announced. "You're the leader. Now take us to the promise lands."
"We trust you." Cesar added.
"So, what's next, fearless leader? Do we call Rosé?" Monse asked.
"Rosé's been protecting Lil' Ricky for all these years, so there's no way she'd hook us up with him." Jamal explained. "Luckily, as usual, I'm way ahead of you losers." Jamal turned his computer around. "Exhibit C: Father Goose's record label. We set up a meeting, snap a pic as a proof of life, send said pic to Cuchillos, who could take it from there."
Jamal cleared his throat and put his phone against his ear. "Hi, this is Jamal Turner calling for Father Goose."
"Why the ass kissing voice?" I asked.
Jamal put his pointer against his mouth then continued the conversation. "I'm a producer. Yup, I'm calling to set up a meeting. I just need five minutes with the Goose. He'll know what it's about."
"Fantastic. Appreciate you, ma." Jamal hung up the phone. "Yeah, that's not gonna work."
I groaned and got up. "This is pointless!"
"It isn't pointless, we're just brainstorming." Jamal replied.
"Exactly, brainstorming." I responded. "You dug up a football field, dug up someone's grave, almost killed a guy, we got kidnapped and threatened by some crazy bitch to find her man, that's probably dead by the way. Why don't you all get off your asses, and sneak the hell in wherever the son of a bitch is!?"
Everyone looked at each other. Then at me. Jamal smiled and put his arm around me. "Mia, you may be the oldest."
"The wisest." Monse added.
"The most violent." Cesar said.
"The second prettiest." Jasmine added on to the rest of the b.s.
I rolled my eyes. "But this, is why you're not the leader." Jamal finished.
I ducked under Jamal's arm and walked towards the front door. "Whatever. You guys come up with your complex plans and whatnot, I have other things to worry about."
"What, like being violent and destructive elsewhere?" Ruby asked.
I sighed. "When you all figure out that my plan is the best, don't call me."
~~~~
"And you called me anyway!" I said. I was on the set of Father Goose and Ashley... Ainsley... Jojo Siwa wannabe, whatever.
"Your plan was added to ours, don't give yourself all the credit." Cesar replied.
"Really?" I asked. "How exactly did you get in here? Same way as me, right? You basically snuck in, thanks to that I-don't-give-a-shit attitude of the part time security guard?"
Jasmine leaned over to Monse. "Oh, she's good." She whispered.
I rolled my eyes. "Where's Jamal?"
"Trying to find Father Goose." Monse answered.
"And you are all standing here looking completely lost? Nice. That definitely won't make you look suspicious and get you kicked out." I explained.
