"What do you mean your mom is alive?" Monse asked me.

"I mean, I went to the police station today and asked how did my parents die, Jasmine told me how my dad died, but nothing came up about my mom." I explained

"And Jasmine told you this?" Cesar asked

"It's pretty hard to fuck up a death record, C." I said as I folded my arms

Monse sighed. "Mia, can you just wait in my room?"

I groaned. As much as I don't like Jasmine, she has no reason to lie. And it's a damn police station. They know everything when it comes to someone dying, and it was drive by, and this was recent too.

Monse had some sweatshirts on her bed. I'm guessing they're Cesar's. I heard the door close behind me and I turned around.

"Tell me everything that happened today." Monse ordered.

~~~~~~
I ran today. Yeah, actually did a morning run. First day back to school, at least I'll look like I tried to look good for it. And I had gym first this morning anyway, so might as well just jog to school.
I stopped in front of some apartments to take a breath. I looked to my left. Shit, I'm on Prophet territory. Yeah, I know Oscar made a stupid truce to "save me", but does he really think every single Prophet is going to listen?
Ugh. Legs, just get me to school!
~~~~~~

And of course I'm late.

"Where have you been?" Ruby asked

"Running. Where is everyone?" I questioned

"Running? You?" Ruby laughed. "You know that requires exercise right? And it's quite obvious that you skip leg day... everyday."

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" I asked

"He's trying to say you're thick, but he sounds more like an asshole about it." Monse replied, and Ruby nodded in agreement

"Well, Ruby, I'm sorry if me actually wanting to exercise to get my mind off shit surprises you." I said

"What are you talking about?" He asked

I looked at Monse and Cesar, then left. They'll fill him in, no doubt.

All eyes were on me. Spooky's ex-girlfriend, but I'm pretty sure everyone thinks we're still together. I tried opening my locker, and of course, wouldn't open.

I went up to a teacher who might have a key to open them. "Hey, excuse me do you-"

"Don't hurt me please!" The teacher yelled

What the hell? "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you. What are you-"

"Just take my money, please. And don't tell anyone about it." The teacher gave me fifty bucks and bolted. I looked around, everyone, and I mean everyone was staring at me with nervous and worried looks.

"You have got to be kidding me." I said, before walking away, trying to look for Jasmine.

"Any idea what the hell is going on?" I asked her, coming up to her locker.
