City lights

Flashes that look like lucent ghosts
Have crossed the street as dark as coal.
The car shot past a sole signpost,
Letting the speed get off control.

A dancing glim of brazen torch
Escaped the pales of vitreous cap
And wandered round the lanes in search
Of obscure site to fully wrap.

Roofs of the scattered drowsy homes,
Emitting grayish smoke from grate,
Were stretching to the heaven's dome
Into the depth of starry bait.

Behind the flimsy window frame
Where people gently laugh and speak
The life abounds and dopes the air,
As lights of city never sleep.
