Peter > You forgot this at home, Lucy. You really are absent minded.

He throws my notebooks and books for the Myths and Legends course on the table. He gives me an annoyed look as if I'd hurt him. What is his problem? I didn't do anything to him and he's judging me and speaking badly to me. I'm tired of always being the victim of his mood changes!

> Okay, okay, anyone can forget something sometimes, can't they?

His eyes seem to soften. He even seems embarrassed by his behavior. I take the books he's thrown on the table and storm out of the library, without a backward glance. Before getting out, I hear Sarah getting angry with him.

Sarah > Can't you be a little nicer to her, it wouldn't cost you anything, would it?

She doesn't wait for his answer and quickly catches up with me. When we're in the corridor, she grabs my wrist.

Sarah > Hey... are you sure you want to stay with them? They aren't normal, even if they don't physically attack you, they could still hurt you.

I sigh, already tired and the day has just begun.

> I'm not going to run away all my life, Sarah. Maybe they are strong and rapid but I'm not defenseless, trust me.

I look at the time and realize that it's time to og to Myths and Legends. At least that will allow me to take my mind off things. We get into the amphitheater early and sit towards the back. I don't really want to get noticed, since the day I arrived late. Once again, the room is full of girls jostling to get into the front row. They're all there to admire the handsome Professor Jones from every angle. I shudder when I see Peter come in and sit a few rows in front of us, without a look at me. I can't help being hurt by his behavior. I then see Dorothy come in. She runs her eyes over the rows as if she were looking for someone. Her gaze stops on Peter, and a big smile lights up her Gothic doll-like face. She runs towards him at full speed and seems to be asking him a question. He takes a moment before nodding. I see her quickly settle in next to him. I realize that I really don't understand Peter. Maybe I was just simply imagining things?

Sebastian Jones enters the amphitheater, putting an end to my thoughts. Obviously, Sarah noticed the scene and can't help but make a comment.

Sarah > Did you see that the new girl sitting next to Peter, he's usually always alone, kind of weird, don't you think?

I growl, annoyed by her remark. Sarah does everything she can to stop me from getting close to Peter and even strives to separate us. Sarah acts like Peter's getting between us. She seems to just want me for herself. Is she really attracted to me? I prefer not to respond; I don't want to start another debate on the subject.

Professor Jones > Today we'll continue the course from last time, about mediums. They are very important in our society, which is why I want to delve deeper into the subject.

I don't know why, but his eyes always seem to come back to me, as if he were speaking to me personally. After all, that's happened, I'm starting to become a little paranoid. I must calm down at all costs and focus on the course, instead of imagining things.

Professor Jones > Mediums are important because they link the spiritual world to the physical world, they are, in a way vectors. In many civilizations they allow spirits to communicate with the living. Their goal is to warn them or to pass messages on to them. Mediums are particularly sensitive to paranormal phenomena, so they need to protect themselves. They are sometimes sought after by some to serve personal purposes.

Is he warning me? Am I in danger? I've never spoken of my powers to anyone except my parents, who are dead, and to Sarah, who doesn't seem to be the type to want to take advantage of me. Was he talking about vampires? If so, how could I be useful to them? I'm sort of linked to the dead, and so are they. I can even see some of their past, parts that they try to keep scrupulously secret. Would they see me as a threat, if they learned what I could do? I have no desire to become an enemy of the Bartholy brothers, and their father, an absent but terrifying figure. I gulp, feeling worried. If they burned witches centuries ago, what would they be capable of it they knew my secret?
