Peter: Is it love - The original story (Game walk through)

Chapter three part one

The silence that has fallen over the living room is oppressive. I feel totally lost. When I came to Mystery Spell, I didn't think my life would take such a sudden turn. Nicolae and Peter are watching me. One seems rather calm, the other not so much. Peter is staring at me with his beautiful green eyes so intensely that it makes my heart beat faster. His clenched fists resting on his knees, his frown... He seems to be holding his breath as much as me. Should I choose to stay here with them, or should I run away again? I'm scared and that's perfectly normal. The situation is complicated. I'm like propelled into a war that I'm probably not really ready to face.

> I don't even really know what's at stake...

Nicolae > Know that if you stay here, we will protect you, whatever the cost.

I take a moment to reflect on my choice but, deep down, I know what I want to do.

> I'm going to stay with you. I had nowhere to go and you helped me start over. My life is here now. I won't abandon you.

Nicolae looks at me for a long time without saying anything. He seems to be searching my soul, looking for the slightest flaw.

Nicolae > Very well. So be it.

I catch my breath. I feel like I've just jumped head-first into the void...

Nicolae > Ok, so... We're vampires, you know that much. Some people are aware of our existence. Your friend Sarah, for example... Although we don't feed on humans, and we've been trying for years to blend in with the crowd, things aren't so easy...You've probably already noticed that I don't really go according to plan. People still fear and suspect us. One group, in particular, thinks we're a threat. They go so far as finding that anything magical is fundamentally bad. They try to track down and chase those who have certain powers: us vampires, but also witches, and many other types of creatures...

I shudder with fear. I'm sure that mediums are part of their targets. I think I will soon have to tell them that, I too, possess some special abilities. I'd feel so much better if they knew everything.

Nicolae > We don't know much about them, just that they call themselves "The Descendants of the Templars." They take it on themselves to rid the world of supernatural creatures. For now, we've managed to stay out of their suspicion, but the fact that Loan thinks Peter is a monster doesn't bode well. He may even be one of their agents...Descendants tend to believe that everything that is not totally human is monstrous.

Vampires, witches... I mean they're always the bad guys in the stories... It's just that hose I know are nothing like that. It's actually just Loan who bothers me and looks for trouble at the university... I can't begin to imagine him as part of a secret society like the Templars.

> But what are you going to do about them?

Nicolae > For now, nothing. It's just a rumor, we don't really know who they are or what they're plotting. But we can't ignore the threat either. Which is why you have to be extremely careful Lucy.

Once I start talking I tend to get carried away, and I sometimes let things slip unintentionally... I will do my best to protect them, and protect myself too...

Nicolae > Good. At least now things are clear. I'm sorry you got mixed up in all this, Lucy. You deserve better...

He gets up and looks down at me from his full height.

Nicolae > Now, you'll have to excuse me. If you need anything whatsoever, let me know.

Nicolae's self-confidence, his natural authority and his presence reassure me. I feel safe here at the manor house. Peter gets up and approaches me, with a tender expression on his face.
