She closed her eyes and sighed. Slowly putting the bow down and her head down in shame. She couldn't believe that she was doing this!
She opened her eyes slowly and raised her head to see the sirens reaction. He was shocked. His eyes were wide, he mouth agaped but quickly closing. He hesitantly lowered his sword to his side, still staring at her in amazement.
As they continued their stare the only things that were able to be heared, were the sounds of the birds chirping, the rustling of the trees leaves whenever a soft breeze came by. There stares looked harsh and mean, but they were testing each other in a way, who was going to break the silence? Who was going to make the first move?
Then, something flickered in the distance behind the auburn, catching Faylinns eye, she removed she gaze from the sirens eyes to the flickering object in the distance. It looked like a familiar figure she saw before, but who could it be? The figure looked like it was standing on top of the water, then a feminine figure show up behind him. From where she stood, she couldn't see the defined features of their bodies or faces and from being almost transparent! It was like they were a ghost! Wait, were they?
The girl, had a light golden hair and large scars across her legs. The boy had rusty coloured hair, almost identical to the siren in front of her. The two beings were standing in the middle of the lake, just talking to one another like they were the only ones here. Then the boy turned to see Faylinn staring at them, surprisingly the male siren in the water hasn't turned around yet, probably because he thought that if he turned around she would slaughter him right away... Anyways! When the boy noticed Faylinn in the distance he smiled, or that what it looked like from her point of view. The female did the same thing as the man beside her. Weren't they scared? Weren't they scared that she had slaughtered the sirens laying down dead in front of her? Or did they not care that she had killed someone? Then they did something she did not suspect, they waved. They waved and smiled before flickering off in the distance and disappearing.
As soon as they disappeared she quickly turned her gaze towards the the siren in front of her, now nervous. Maybe even a little scared. She gripped on to the bow in her hands tighter almost in worry that she will drop it.
Again, their eyes meet into a stare, except the sirens eyes seemed a bit softer. In which it completely caught her of guard, in spite of not knowing what to do the only thing she could think of was raising her bow up and pointing it at him and caused him to panic. He dropped his sword and raised his hands in surrender.
" W-Wait! I thought we were fine now! Haha haha.. . " He spoke in panic as he shaked his hands side to side. ' Shit.. ' he thought probably because he dropped his sword and it's probably at the bottom of the lake and now dealing with a female faery with an arrow aimed at his face.
Faylinn gripped her bow even tighter. Palms were sweaty, and her face was probably flustered. Right now what she needed was Łucy, but she was nowhere to be found when she came down. She prayed that she was safe. She needed her to help her. She wanted to speak to him but she also had to kill him, and you can probably guess which urge was greater right? Yeah.
Sweat now forming and rolling down the sirens face. How long did he have to wait before she let go of that string and let that arrow slide through his flesh? Or how long was it going to take for her to put down the bow, again.
As the two had many thoughts running through their heads, Łucy, now finally showing up and decided to take matters into her hands. So, she grabbed a small enough twig for her to hold, and flew straight at the siren and started to hit him with the small stick in her hands and yelling at him.
" Die! Die you water breathing idiot! Take that! And that! DIE. "
Faylinn eyes widen. Her mouth closed, and formed into a tight line as the muscles tried to break into a smile, but failing as she also was trying not let a giggle go. What got her was the sirens face, the way he made an annoyed yet winced face was adorable to her and apparently funny.
" Hey! Knock it off! " He tried moving his hands around his head trying to shake off the tiny creature. He clearly seemed annoyed but yet in a way he was enjoying it.
Faylinn had let her bow rest at her side as she tried not to laugh out loud. A hand over her mouth as she tried to hide the snickers and giggles that would escape her mouth. This continued for about a minute before she finally cracked up and let her laughter ring through the beautiful meadow, or at least it used to be, since it is now littered with dead bodies and blood. As her laughter rang through the meadow Łucy and Kato stopped their movements and stared at her in bewilderment, what was so funny? What was so funny in a serious state?
" Faylinn! This isn't the time to be laughing! Help me out and kill this siren! " Łucy said to Faylinn in a serious tone.
" Oy! That's mean! I mean I'm not even armed! " He countered for defending himself.
" Yeah right! Look at those teeth of yours! There razor sharp! "
" No their not! Their actually quite dull.. But that doesn't matter! I haven't even layed a finger on her and you still want to kill me?! " With saying this Faylinns laughter died down. She looked at the siren with. . . Happiness? Care? What was it?
" Yes! Because your the ones who started this mangling war!! " Łucy shouted at him at the top of her lungs and her face going red as a tomato in anger.
At this point his blood started to boil.
" Geez, Lady's calm down. No need to get into a fight about shoes. " Faylinn suddenly said confusing the hell out of them both.
" What? " Łucy and Kato said in unison, in which she just smiled in response.
" By the looks of it we aren't going to kill each other, my name is Faylinn. And that's Łucy, my friend. " Faylinn reached out her hand for a shake. Łucy eyes widen.
" WHAT?! Are you nuts?! Faylinn-! " cut off by the siren...
" The names Kato. Pleasure to meet you Faylinn. " Reaching out and shaking her hand. Faylinn smiled as they shook hands. To him her smile was beautiful, it seemed so gentle to him.
" I wish we could meet again, hopefully when this war ends faeries and mermaids will be able to see each other freely, but now me and Łucy have to head back to camp and bring our soldiers back. " Faylinn said with such reassurance that he could have sworn he knew that he was going to see her tomorrow but was quickly washed away after he remembered the law between meeting the faeries and sirens in secret. Łucy flew to her shoulder and started to muttered something's intelligible while she started to try and lift the soldiers somewhere.
" Goodbye Kato. Oh! And if you tell anyone that you talked to me and I let you live, I will not hesitate to find you in that ocean of yours and rip you apart, alright? Alright. Bye bye! " She waved to Kato who was himself dragging his dead teammates into the water who he had to take back to camp. He sheepishly wave back at her as she carried one of her soldiers elsewhere.
' I have a feeling that this won't be over soon. . . ' Kato thought.
