Chapter Nineteen- The Question

Thomas's P.O.V
After Thomas had taken a shower, he went to the living room to find Alexander. A big smile spread on his lips when he saw Him reading one of his letters. He could tell that Alexander was deeply moved by the words on the page.
Thomas moved to sit down. When he did, Alex looked up from the paper. There was a huge smile on his face.
"Thomas.. These are amazing!"
Thomas's cheeks flushed as he scratched his neck. "I haven't even tried lately. They're just my thoughts down on the paper."
"I love them." There was a sparkle in his eye.
"I'm glad you like them." Thomas took a deep breath.
"Is everything okay?"
"Oh.. Yeah. I just have a question.."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Hit me."
Thomas looked away for a moment before asking, "what exactly are we?"
He could tell he took the smaller man by surprise. He probably wasn't expecting that kind of question.
"I... Don't know?" He responded.
"Hmm.." Thomas grinned. "I'll be right back." He got up and walked into his bedroom.
He had bought a few bouquets of flowers for his mother's birthday party. He grabbed one of these now and headed back into the living room.
"Alexander Hamilton, will you take the honor of being my boyfriend," He got on one knee and presented the flowers to him. "And let me take you on a date?"
Thomas new it was extremely cheesy. The saying is though that you are what you eat.

Alexander laughed before taking the flowers. "Of course I will!"
He was almost knocked down by the smaller man jumping to give him a hug.

"How about we go in two days? The day after ma's birthday?"
"That sounds lovely to me."
"Speaking of which, we have to go and get supplies."
"Can we make coffee cake?"
"No Alex. Not everyone likes coffee as much as you do."
"I was just joking. I wanna make cake-pops for the kiddos though."
"Of course."
"I wanna tell you a joke."
"Sure..?" He hoped it wasn't another one of Rae's 'Dad Jokes'.
"Why do melons have weddings?"
"Uh.. I don't know."
"Be-" Alexander let out a laugh before he even started saying the line. "Because they cantaloupe."
Thomas face palmed.
"Did Rae tell you that one?"
"Yeah."

Rae's P.O.V
She was in her room after her dad and Lexi confessed their love for each other.
She had ran to her room right after, not wanting to squeal in front of them.
Now she was dancing and laughing and saying things like "I knew it," and "I told you."
She had wanted them to get together for a long while.
She was happy that the two people in her life that she loved the most (not excluding her ma of course, she loved her) were going to be happy together.
She hoped it would be forever.
