*Thomas Jefferson's P. o. v.*

"Hello..?"

Thomas' eyes widened as he couldn't believe that someone had picked up. "Ma..? Is that you?" He asked, his voice cracking halfway through.

"Thomas... Please tell me that is you." He could hear the warmness of her voice that had always been there.

"Yes ma. It's me. I'm so sorry I left without saying goodbye. I-" He was cut off by his mother's voice.

"Goodness heavens! Why haven't you called? I miss you so much, I haven't been able to look in your room since you left." He could hear crying on the other end of the phone.

"Ma, Don't cry. I'm sorry I haven't called. I thought you would have been mad at me." He paused, his eyes glazing over again. "Would you want to come with Alexander, the kids and I to the mall..? You could meet my daughter, Rae."

"Who's Alexander? I've never heard of him a- wait daughter? Oh my goodness, I'm a grandmother!" He had to move the phone away from his ear as she screamed in delight. Well, not really screamed, but squealed. When he had moved his phone back to his ear, he heard her say "That would be lovely. We could meet up outside the park where you used to always play."

Thomas' face showed a smile as the tears disappeared. How could his mood change so quickly? One moment he was close to tears, and the next he was ecstatic.

"Ma, that would be perfect. And Alexander was my college roommate. I'll meet you at the park in an hour, alright?" His smile could most likely be heard on the other end of the phone, due to the immense happines rushing through him. He was actually able to talk to her without her being mad. How was that so?

"That's perfectly fine, hun. Ill be on a bench waiting." And then he heard the click of a phone before the sound went blank. He moved his phone away from his ear and jumped up from the bed.

A few minutes later, Thomas was in his daughters room with Alexander, searching around for something Angelica could borrow. He knew he wouldn't have any clothes for Phillip, but he had washed all of the clothes that had been dirtied so that he had something clean to wear.

He heard a squeal from next to him when he pulled out a little pink dress with a pair of black stockings on the hanger with it. Angelica's eyes were wide and her mouth was agape, amazement in her eyes. "Wow.." She breathed out, and Thomas chuckled.

"Rae? Would it be okay if Angelica wears this? It seems she really likes it." He was smiling softly as he ruffled Angelica's hair.

"Of course Papa! She can always borrow my clothes!" He heard Rae call out from the living room and angelica cheered. He handed her the dress and she ran off to the bathroom.

Thomas turned to look at Alexander, a triumphant smile on his face. "I told you I'd find something." Alexander laughed at his statement before playfully pushing him. "What'd you do that for?" He asked quietly.

"I did it because I can."

When Alexander had said that, Thomas went into a daze. He remembered the last time Alexander and him joked like that.

Thomas was sitting on his dorm room couch, Alexander next to him. He was smiling as the movie Rent was playing on the tv. He was making small talk with Alexander as they watched it, Rent being one of his favorite movies.

"I'm really glad we had no classes today, but I don't think you liked it that much, since you like school so much." Thomas had said, a joking tone in his voice. "Your always working, even if you don't need to."

"It's because If I don't work, and I don't get my assignments completed, then I'll get kicked out. Then I'll have to go back to Nevis. You don't know how much I dislike nevis now, even though it used to be my home."

Thomas could hear the sadness in his voice, but he didn't need to push him to explain it. He knew what had happened to him back in Nevis. That's why during every thunderstorm they talked, and listened to loud music. Loud enough to block out the thunder.

"You need to take a break. Try to at least have SOME fun." He had said in an attempt to lighten the mood that had just been created.

He felt two hands push against his chest in a playful way as Alexanders voice rang out. "But I have to work. I LIKE to work."

Thomas laughed aloud as he playfully pushed him back. He wouldn't admit it, but the flames in his cheeks were burning bright. He was blushing, unwillingly. He couldn't stop it, so he just went along with it.

"You can't work all the time though. Just, would you like to go to Starbucks with me to go get coffee?" Thomas asked. He then added, "take a break."

He could see the confusion in Alexanders eyes, the accusing look on his face.

"No! Not like that. Just as friends." Thomas was quick to say. "You know my fathers homophobic."

Alexanders expression lightened as he said "I wasn't- no. Thomas.. i have to tell you something."

Thomas raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"Well... it's hard to say this.. but.. I'm bisexual." His voice cracked, and thomas' eyes widened.

"Oh.. I didn't know.."

Thomas was brought back to reality by Alexanders concerned voice. "Thomas! Are you alright! What happened!"

His gaze turned to Alexander and a smile formed on his lips. "Oh.. it's nothing. I was just remembering something. Do you remember when we watched rent in college for the first time together..?"

He could see the recognition in Alexanders eyes as he replied. "Yes.. that's when I came out to you.. right?"

Thomas nodded, and as quickly as he did, his vocal cords betrayed him. "Well... I may be bisexual as well."  Thomas wouldn't admit it, but the whole reason he knew he was bisexual was because of Alexander.

He had always liked Alexander. Maybe even more than a friend. But he would never tell Alexander.

Thomas saw Alexanders face fill with shock. "But your father, what will he do to y-"

"Alexander, that's why I'm going to meet up with my ma. I'm going to come out to her today as well."

His mother would be more understanding. Way more understanding than his father would ever be.

*Rae's Point of view*
((Bonus part))

Rae stood outside of the room her father and the cold man, otherwise known as Alexander, were standing in. She was listening to their conversation with a grin on her face.

"Well... I may be bisexual as well."

Rae had covered her mouth when she had heard that to cover up a giggle. Shr didn't understand what it could have meant, but she had an idea. She ran off and went into her fathers' office. She grabbed a piece of paper and started to write something on it.

After she wrote that, she drew a big heart and wrote a few letters inside.

I also hope you guys like the new book cover I made today!

I'll see you all next chapter!
