Chapter 38

Jughead POV

We are in the car driving to the hospital. Betty is on the phone with her mom. Kevin stayed with Toby at home they are coming when the baby is born.

"Oww Juggie it hurts" Betty groans.

I grab her hand " Okay uhh try and breath we are almost there" I say trying not to panic.

30 minutes later

We are now in a room. Betty is hooked up to machines.

"You're only 8 months. Is the baby gonna be okay" I ask

"The doctor said she should be but they might put her in the NICU" Betty says tiredly

"Are you tired Bubba" I say. She nods with her eyes closed.

"Try and sleep okay. I love you" I smile and kiss her head.

"Love you too" then she falls asleep.

3 hours later

Still no baby Betty is sleeping right now. She woke up a lot because of contractions.

"Hey Jug" my dad says walking in with Alice and Jessica.

"Hey" I say

"How she doing" Alice says and places her bag on the table.

"She's doing okay. Just having really bad contractions." I say.

"Well I went through that 3 times and once with twins." Alice says and sits down.

"How's it feel that she could give birth any minute and you'll be a father of two kids" my dad says and pats my shoulders.

"I'm nervous and excited" I say

"Hopefully you don't faint like me when you and your siblings were born" my dad says

"You fainted Fp" Alice says

"Yeah and Gladys yelled at me after" My dad laughs. I look over at Jessica and she staring at me then she looks away.

"Mom" I hear Betty say

"Hey how you feeling" Alice says and brushes hair out of her face.

"Hungry" Betty says and I smile

"We were about to eat lunch, but Bubbles wanted to come first." I say

"Bubbles? Jug what's up with theses nicknames." My dad says and sits down next to Jessica.

"It's just something I can call my family. Wait how's jellybean." I say jelly bean came home yesterday.

"She's okay. She is in the hospital. Her kids are sick and not used to the light. I told her that we are gonna be here for a 2 days then we'll be back. The serpents are looking after her though." My dad explains.

"Juggie I'm thirsty" Betty says

"I'll get the nurse" I'm about to press the call button when the nurse walks in.

"Hey I'm here to check how dilated she is and her vitals" the nurse says and starts checking her.

"Can I get some water please" Betty says

"Oh yeah I'll bring that to you" the nurse says

Later that night

Still no baby. My dad and Alice went to our house. Betty is awake with me and we are just talking.

"Once this girl is out of me. I'm never getting pregnant again" she groans

"Why I want more kids" I say. I know she exaggerating it because she wants 3 kids.

"Cause I don't want to be in labor for a whole 10 hours. Jug we came here at 12 something. It's 10:30." Betty says

"Well it's gonna be worth it. Right? When we hold our little baby girl in our hands." I say and hold her hand.

"Yeah and I won't be out numbered anymore" she says

"Let's never have a gender reveal again or never have Kevin and Veronica organizes it." I say

"Yeah it was literally two months after we found out." Betty says then winces.

"Contraction" I say and she squeezes me hand.

Once it's over she takes a deep breath. "Fuck that hurt" Betty says and puts her head back on the pillow.

"Yeah if that was me I would of been passed out." I say

"Imagine if guys had to give birth" she says and laughs

"Where would the baby come out of" I say

"Your ass I don't know" Betty giggles and I laugh.

"I can weirdly imagine that" I say and she laughs

Betty POV

The next morning

My mom came back this morning. Still no baby and Jughead is getting eager.

"How much longer" Jughead groans and leans back in his chair.

"Jughead you're acting like a baby" I giggle

"Yeah Jughead grow up you're about to be a dad" Fp says walking inside the room.

"Hey dad" Jughead says and sits up.

"Still no baby" Fp says

"Yep been in labor for almost 24 hours" I say

"Hopefully my first grand daughter comes quickly" Fp says

"So Jelly bean has boys" Jug says

"Yeah 3 of them one of them is 5 and the other 2 are 1 years old" Fp says

"Okay I'm here again" Betty's nurse says and checks Betty.

"How dilated am I, Jane" I say

"You're ready, time push now" she says and I get really nervous.

"I'll go get the doctor" she says and walks out of the room.

"Oh Betty you're about to be a mommy" my mom squeals. I see jughead pale.

"Jug you okay" I say

"She's about to be here" he says and looks at me.

"Yeah Jughead" I say he smiles and his color comes back.
