"Why?", My tone came out higher than I anticipated, "why there?"

" You know about your uncle, we have to take care of his business and Jay for few years." Dad said looking away from me.

I stormed off from the room, not even once listening to my name being called from the dining table.

Jay - the one guy I regret knowing from his childhood.

He is the most stubborn kid and has always been rude to everyone. If I had to choose between Hitler and him, I would choose Hitler without a second thought. The word hatred is just not enough to describe how much I hate him. If we need a strong reason to hate someone in your life, I have got handful to hate him.

Firstly, he never treated anyone in our family properly from the day I had known him. He never even spoke to us during our family meetings. Of course he used to ditch most of them.

Secondly, he stopped talking to his mother when he was in 8th grade, about 9 years ago. His hatred for his mother became unbearable leading his parents to live separately after a few months.

His father stopped looking after the company to take care of Jay. His mother used to take care of the company until uncle Uday passed away recently. She wanted to take Jay with her but he didn't even like to think about it. So aunt decided to find some peace and happiness and left the company. So this left my dad to deal with the company and Jay. Jay went on a holiday to Milan and would be returning in a week.

We would be leaving in a week and Swetha will also be joining a school there. Everyone is being busy lately packing their boxes and getting ready for the moving. Dad informed us that Jay, Trisha and me are about to join the same college. (Jay spent two years partying and wasting his father's money. Now he too has to join with us).

I just finished packing most of my things when I heard a knock at my door. I looked over to find Trisha standing there. She smiled and came to sit beside me.

"Seems like you are almost done", she said looking around my room.

"Yeah, a few more things", I said with a sad smile, "Are you done packing?"

"Almost started", she said with a smirk.

"I am so excited to move Anu", she continued, "Sharing the same house and going to same college as Jay. Wow! this is really a dream come true for me."

That is it, the mention of his name is enough for me to loose the interest in the topic.

“Hey Anu, I know we were never on good terms. But, as we are moving to Jay’s, I think it’s time for us to be mature and get over it.”

I was so puzzled and didn’t know how to respond to it. Seeing my dilemma she continued.

“I’m not saying that we will suddenly become sisters like in cliché movies. I’m saying that it’s time for us to stop fighting.”

“I guess it’s a good start.” It’s the most awkward moment I had with her. But some part of me was happy. ‘May be we will get to know each other and I would get the sister I have always wanted.

We talked for some time before she left to start packing. I drifted off to sleep wondering how I'm going to feel with Jay being around everywhere.

Author’s note:

So much anticipation and hope. Is this going to be enough for fate to be nice with her?
